On October 10, Agility Robotics announced last year that it would build the world's first humanoid robot factory - "RoboFab" to expand the production scale of its bipedal robot Digit.

Now, a year later, Agility Robotics recently revealed an update on the plant.

Agility Robotics' "RoboFab" facility, located about 30 miles (note: about 48.28 kilometers) from the company's headquarters in Oregon, has officially begun assembling robots. It is reported that the production capacity of the plant has reached several hundred units in the first year.

Peggy Johnson, CEO of Agility Robotics, said, "Digit robots have been in production for about a year. The 70,000-square-foot facility will have an annual capacity of 10,000 units, and we will achieve this goal in the coming years. "

In addition, the company has already begun testing Digit with high-profile customers such as Amazon and GXO Logistics.

Digit is designed to take on repetitive and tedious manufacturing tasks to help close the labor gap in logistics. "There are more than 1 million job openings in logistics alone. Robots like Digit can step in," Johnson said. "It's often a part of the job that human employees don't like. We can free up our employees and give them more time in the day to learn new skills. "

Agility has raised US$190 million (currently approximately RMB1.345 billion) since its inception in 2015. The company launched the fourth version of Digit in October 2024 and is already working on the next iteration. "In the next generation, we will integrate so-called collaborative security, which can enable humanoid robots to work alongside humans. We're going to integrate AI more fully. Johnson said.

Johnson also said that the ultimate goal of Agility is to enable robots to build their own future versions on their own.
