Renishaw's RCS range of industrial automation products was unveiled for the first time at Renishaw's booth at the Shanghai International Industry Fair 2024 (CIIF 2024). Held from 24 to 28 September 2024 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, Renishaw's RCS product range will be held at booth C306 in hall 8.1.
Accuracy testing and calibration, Renishaw measurement technology empowers industrial robots
With the continuous development of China's new quality productivity, the potential of process automation will be further unleashed. However, in the field of industrial robot automation, the installation, commissioning and accuracy verification of robots, as well as the monitoring and recovery process of robots, still require a lot of manual operation, which consumes a lot of production time and cost. For consistency, ease and traceability in the robot installation process, the Renishaw RCS product range has been developed.
The RCS product range uses Renishaw's metrology technology, which has been inherited for more than 50 years, to perform high-precision inspections of industrial robots for trajectory accuracy, repeatability, tool coordinate system, workpiece coordinate system, and optimize tool center accuracy (TCP) by adjusting robot parameters, improving the level of robot accuracy and enabling high-precision robot applications.
RCS ballbar series L90 and T90, with a measurement accuracy error of less than plus or minus 2 microns, can help robotics engineers to:
1) Quickly calibrate TCP accuracy
2) Check the trajectory accuracy of the robot in the specified motion space
3) Through the Zero-Remastering zero calibration technology, the accuracy of the motion trajectory is improved, so as to improve the process quality
It is suitable for robot detection and calibration at the customer's site, and can understand the changes in the robot's accuracy data in real time and give full play to the best performance of the robot.
RCS Probe Series RCS P applies tactile measurement technology to robot coordinate system measurement, helping robot end users to:
1) High-precision measurement and calibration of tool/workpiece coordinate system
2) The robot single-station program is automatically restored, saving a lot of time for the engineer's on-site secondary teaching
It can effectively help robot users solve: the secondary point teaching after the workpiece positioning is inaccurate or the tool position is offset, so as to realize the automatic restoration of the production unit, reduce the production line downtime and improve production efficiency.
During the exhibition, Renishaw demonstrated the application of the RCS product range to different robots, shared the operation process and accuracy improvement effect of RCS products, and allowed visitors to experience high-precision robot inspection, calibration and performance improvement.
