A carton strapping machine usually blows a fuse when an electrical or mechanical fault triggers the overload protection. The fuse is a symptom. Find the cause before you replace it.

Electrical causes

Voltage problems. Unstable supply voltage, especially a sudden large rise, can push wires, fuses, and other parts past their design load. The fuse then blows.

Short circuit. Wires inside the machine can wear, rub, or age. The insulation may break down, and two wires may touch. A short circuit draws very high current. The fuse blows at once to protect the circuit.

Motor fault. The motor is the main power source. A shorted winding or a damaged bearing can lock the rotor. Current rises sharply. That current passes through the protection part and blows the fuse.

Mechanical causes

Jammed parts. Gears, chains, or other drive parts can bind. Strap can also wrap or knot inside the machine. The motor load rises fast. To overcome the resistance, the motor draws more current. The overload then blows the fuse.

Overheating. Running the machine for long periods in a place with poor airflow lets heat build up inside. High temperature can change the electrical behavior of some components or damage them. This can lead to a short circuit or abnormal current and blow the fuse.

What to check

Cut power before inspection. Check supply voltage, wiring, and motor condition. Look for jammed gears, chain binding, or strap wrapped in the machine. Check airflow around the machine. If a gear, chain part, or drive component is worn, Hansheng Automation can machine a replacement from customer drawings.
