A metal detector conveyor that alarms at the slightest touch is not always a conveyor fault. Common causes include sensitivity set too high, aging or damaged parts, unstable power, environmental interference, conveyor contamination, and false product effect. Before tearing the unit down, check these areas one by one.
Adjust sensitivity
Lower sensitivity based on product characteristics. Keep it within the normal metal content range of the product being inspected. This avoids false trips from tiny metal content or slight contact.
Inspect and maintain parts
Check the resistance of the detection coil winding regularly. Replace it if the value deviates from the standard. Reinforce the coil structure to prevent loosening or deformation. Check circuit board components for leakage and replace damaged ones.
Fix power supply problems
Check battery voltage and replace the battery if it is low. Clean battery leakage and repair corroded contact parts.
Remove environmental interference
Move the detector away from high-power equipment. Use an electromagnetic shielding room when needed. Install vibration-damping feet to isolate vibration. Adjust the belt tensioner to stabilize product travel.
Clean or replace the conveyor belt
Clean the belt and remove metal debris and other contamination. If the belt is aged or badly damaged, replace it. We machine conveyor frames, tensioner mounts, guide chutes, vibration-damping feet, guards, and similar parts from customer drawings. Hansheng Automation supports single-piece and small-batch custom machining. Material can be 304/316 stainless steel, aluminum alloy, or other grades specified on the drawing. Tolerances and surface treatment follow the drawing. We focus on precision machined parts, not complete machines.
Handle false product effect
For products that contain metal content, lower sensitivity or enable the compensation function. For metal packaging materials, use a suitable model or adjust parameters.
Beyond metal detector parts, our drawing-based custom machining also covers medical devices, food processing equipment, automated assembly line fixtures, tobacco packaging machinery, filling machinery, yacht hardware, and RC car structural parts. We machine single pieces and small batches to drawing for equipment builders and production lines.
