A chocolate factory depends on four groups of equipment: raw material handling, grinding and conching, tempering and forming, and packaging and inspection. Each group has its own machines and process parameters.

Raw material pretreatment

Cocoa beans pass through a cleaning and drying machine to remove impurities. They are then roasted in a roaster at 120 to 150°C with rotation to develop flavor compounds. Broken beans go through an air separation system that separates shells from nibs. A grinder presses out cocoa butter, and the remaining material is ground into cocoa powder.

Grinding and conching

Mixed ingredients such as cocoa mass, sugar powder, and milk powder enter a five-roll refiner. Stainless steel rollers apply shear force and reduce particles below 20 μm. The conching tank then stirs the mass at 45 to 60°C for 48 hours. Kneading further emulsifies the material and drives off volatile acids.

Tempering and forming line

Chocolate paste goes through an automatic tempering machine with three-stage temperature control. First it heats to 45°C to melt fully. Then it cools to 27°C to form stable crystals. Finally it warms back to 31°C for molding. A continuous depositing line with high-precision molds completes shaping. A cooling tunnel then sets the chocolate at 10 to 12°C.

For chocolate equipment builders, Hansheng Automation can machine custom molds, rollers, pump parts, and food-contact components from customer drawings, in single pieces or small batches.

Packaging and quality inspection

Finished chocolate is sealed by an automatic packaging machine with nitrogen flushing. Metal detectors and X-ray machines check for foreign objects. Modern factories also use near-infrared spectrometers to monitor cocoa butter content in real time, ensuring each batch meets quality standards.

Beyond chocolate-making equipment, our precision component customization covers more than one industry. We machine tobacco packaging machinery parts, yacht precision components, filling machinery parts, RC car precision components, printing machinery parts, food machinery parts, and medical device components. Hansheng Automation works from customer drawings and delivers one-off or batch parts to the required material, tolerance, and surface finish. Our scope is precision components, not complete machines.
