A cabling machine mainly consists of a pay-off stand, stranding cage, die holder, wrapping machine, armoring machine, meter counter, haul-off device, take-up and traversing stand, transmission system, and electrical system. Different models vary in structure. Hansheng Automation provides build-to-print custom machining for cabling machines. We make precision parts such as stranding cages, reel frames, die holders, haul-off wheels, and take-up stands from customer drawings, in single pieces or small batches.
1. Stranding cage
The structure is similar to the stranding cage of a strander. The cage has reel frames for insulated core reels. The number of reel frames varies by cabling machine type. Large cabling machines usually have 3 or 6 reel frames. Small cabling machines can have 18, 24, or even more. Each reel frame has a brake to control core tension during stranding. Cage speed is adjusted by change gears, and the rotation direction can also be changed. Fixed support rods at the front of the cage hold filler rope reels.
2. Die holder
The merging die can be replaced as needed. Its function is to combine several insulated cores and strand them into a correct round cable.
3. Wrapping head
The structure is similar to a paper wrapping head. The support usually has 3 or 6 tape clamps. It wraps cloth tape, paper tape, glass cloth tape, or film tape around the cable core.
4. Haul-off machine
It consists of a large rotating wheel and a wire shifting ring. It gives the core linear movement and includes a speed adjustment device. The lay length is mainly controlled by the haul-off speed. We can machine key parts such as haul-off wheels and wire shifting rings from customer drawings.
5. Take-up device
It winds the stranded cable onto a take-up reel. The take-up speed should match the haul-off speed.
6. Pay-off stand for the center wire fixture
