Edible oil processing equipment, especially screw presses used before refining, can develop several common faults. The causes and fixes are below.
Sudden shutdown during operation
Cause: At the start of pressing, the press chamber has not warmed up, but a large amount of material is fed immediately.
Solution: Use heated oilseeds or other raw material and feed slowly. After the equipment runs for a period, its temperature rises and normal feeding can continue.
Screw shaft stuck
Cause: During production, material feed to the press chamber is interrupted, and then a large amount of material is fed again. This causes poor discharge, and the press chamber becomes stuck with oilseed. If the feed regulating plate is adjusted during feeding, a feed stop can be avoided. Another cause is large impurities in the raw material, which can also jam the press chamber.
Too much dregs or slag from an automatic oil press
Cause: The gap between press bars is too large.
Solution: Remove the press bars. Use a tool and sandpaper to grind flat the three raised parts of the press bars. Reinstall the press bars and keep a fixed gap. If cake discharge is difficult, increase the pressure in the press chamber.
For oil press and refining equipment builders, Hansheng Automation can machine custom press worms, filter housings, valve parts, and food-contact components from customer drawings, in single pieces or small batches.
Beyond oil pressing and refining equipment, our precision component customization covers more than one industry. We machine filling machinery parts, medical device components, printing machinery parts, tobacco packaging machinery parts, yacht precision components, RC car precision components, and food machinery parts. Hansheng Automation works from customer drawings and delivers one-off or batch parts to the required material, tolerance, and surface finish. Our scope is precision components, not complete machines.
