A paper machine rubber roll is a roll used in papermaking. A single fourdrinier paper machine often carries seventy to eighty rubber rolls of various sizes. By structure, they include plain rolls with a smooth surface, grooved rolls with grooves in the cover, threaded rolls with thread grooves, vacuum rolls, adjustable curved rolls (hollow bowed rolls), and crown rolls. They serve different sections of the paper machine for water squeezing, pressing, and calendering. They are generally made from various SR materials, such as PU.

A press rubber roll is a large, thick-walled rubber roll used in different sections of a paper machine. Depending on function, it can be a press roll or an auxiliary roll driven by the press roll. A press rubber roll must withstand high pressure and drive other auxiliary rolls. Hardness is high, usually 85 to 95 Shore A. When stock passes between the top and bottom rolls for pressing, the top roll (cast iron core covered with brass or hard rubber) applies pressure to squeeze out water. The bottom roll, the press rubber roll, supports the sheet.

For press roll bodies and rubber-covered roll cores, Hansheng Automation can machine custom roll journals, bearing housings, and structural parts from customer drawings, in single pieces or small batches.

Auxiliary rolls driven by the press roll include the breast roll, which is the first roll on a paper machine and supports the forming wire, table rolls, also called dewatering rolls, which support the wire, doctor rolls, and brush rolls. The rubber cover should have good elasticity, compression resistance, flex resistance, and thermal conductivity. Maximum hardness tolerance must stay within the allowed range. Otherwise, pressing will be uneven and paper quality will suffer. Hardness generally ranges from 40 to 100 Shore A, with tolerance of ±2 to ±4.

Beyond paper machine rubber rolls, our precision component customization serves more than one industry. We machine filling machinery parts, food machinery parts, printing machinery parts, medical device components, yacht precision components, RC car precision components, and tobacco packaging machinery parts. Hansheng Automation works from customer drawings and delivers one-off or batch parts to the required material, tolerance, and surface finish. Our scope is precision components, not complete machines.
