When the KS wire bonding machine reports that the sensor wire is not detected, immediate action is required to avoid damage to the EFO wand. The first step is to stop the machine and disconnect the power. Check whether the sensor cable connector is loose or oxidized. Remove and reinsert the connector, and clean the contact pins with anhydrous alcohol if necessary. In many cases, poor contact at the plug is the cause, especially after the equipment has been moved frequently, which can lead to pin oxidation or misalignment. Industry feedback indicates that roughly 70% of such faults are resolved by cleaning and reseating the connector.
After confirming that the cable has no physical damage, use a multimeter in continuity mode to test both ends of the sensor wire. If an open circuit is found, the cable must be replaced with an original-equipment cable of the same model, such as the 4-core shielded cable commonly used in KS-3000 series machines. Ordinary wires cannot be used as substitutes, because they may introduce signal interference and cause false readings. In some models, the sensor threshold may need to be recalibrated, but this should only be done under the guidance of an engineer.
Before reapplying power, check whether the HMI displays "Sensor OK." If the alarm remains, measure the corresponding IO port voltage on the main board, which should normally be 5 V or 24 V. An abnormal voltage reading may indicate damage to the main board drive circuit, which would require professional repair. Do not force-start the machine, as doing so may cause the EFO wand electrode to melt or the ceramic insulator to break down.
