Service life of medical centrifuges
The recommended service life of a medical centrifuge is usually no more than 5 years. These devices are often used to separate human biological products. A service life beyond the recommended period can affect separation accuracy and, in turn, the accuracy and reliability of test results. Even under standard operation and maintenance, regular inspection and maintenance are needed to reduce the effects of aging. Parts should be replaced according to the specified frequency during use.
Replacement cycle
The replacement cycle depends on model, frequency of use, and operating environment. For main components such as rotating bearings, centrifuge rotors, centrifuge tubes, motors, and circuits, the replacement cycle is about 3 to 5 years if they are not damaged. Different models have different cycles. The manufacturer's guidance and the age of the equipment should be used to decide. Service life and replacement cycles are important in medical equipment management. Following them helps keep laboratory equipment running normally and supports accurate test data. Medical institutions should follow the user manual, inspect regularly, and replace equipment as needed to maintain safety and accuracy.
For rotor housings, adapters, motor mounts, and other non-standard centrifuge parts, Hansheng Automation can machine custom parts to customer drawings in single units or small batches.
Daily maintenance of medical centrifuges
Daily maintenance is important for normal operation and longer service life. Clean, inspect, and maintain the centrifuge on a regular schedule.
- Clean the rotor chamber and rotor with clean water or a mild cleaning agent. Do not use alkaline solutions or solvents that wear the material.
- Remove dirt and debris from the rotor chamber with a cloth or tweezers.
- When the centrifuge is not in use, open the top cover and keep the rotor chamber dry to prevent wear on the motor bearings.
- When handling toxic, radioactive, or contaminated samples, special safety precautions are required.
Our precision parts machining service is not limited to medical centrifuges. Hansheng Automation also machines custom parts for respiratory equipment, CT and MRI components, compressor assemblies, filling machinery, printing equipment, tobacco packaging machinery, yacht hardware, and RC car structural parts. We work from customer drawings and deliver single units or small batches. The service remains focused on precision parts manufacturing, not complete equipment sales.
