CT rotation is achieved by an electric X-ray source inside the CT scanner rotating around the patient.
During a CT scan:
Patient positioning: the patient is placed on the scanner table. The table moves slowly through the gantry.
X-ray source rotation: the electric X-ray source inside the gantry rotates around the patient. The X-ray tube emits a narrow X-ray beam that passes through the patient's body.
Data acquisition: each time the X-ray tube completes a full rotation, it captures the patient's body from many different angles. These images from different angles capture information about internal structures.
Image processing: after acquisition, the computer receives and processes the X-ray signals. Through complex algorithms, the computer converts these signals into clear cross-sectional image slices. These slices show structures at different levels inside the patient's body.
The gantry rotation system relies on a slip ring, bearing assembly, and drive components. For custom non-standard parts such as bearing housings, slip ring brackets, and sensor mounts, Hansheng Automation can machine to customer drawings in single units or small batches.
In medical imaging, there is also a rotation function used to correct images that are not properly oriented during scanning:
Image correction: after the scan, the medical imaging technologist or doctor can enter the image processing interface.
Rotation operation: in this interface, options such as rotation or translation can be selected to rotate the image as needed.
Direction adjustment: rotation brings the image to the correct orientation, so it more accurately reflects the internal structures of the patient's body.
In summary, CT rotation is a complex but precise process. It depends on the gantry, X-ray tube, detector, and reconstruction software, and it provides important support for medical diagnosis.
Our precision parts machining service is not limited to CT gantry components. Hansheng Automation also produces custom parts for medical imaging equipment, respiratory support devices, compressor assemblies, food processing machinery, filling machinery, printing equipment, tobacco packaging machinery, yacht hardware, and RC car components. We work from customer drawings and deliver single units or small batches. The service remains focused on precision parts manufacturing, not complete equipment sales.
