ATE (Automatic Test Equipment) testers are used to perform automated electrical, functional, and parametric testing of electronic components, printed circuit boards, and finished electronic products. They replace manual testing with standardized, high-efficiency quality verification and defect screening.
1. Basic Electrical Parameter Testing
DC parameter testing: measures DC voltage, current, resistance, capacitance, diode forward voltage drop, reverse leakage current, transistor current gain, and saturation voltage. Reliable contact between the device under test and the tester is essential. Hansheng Automation can machine test jigs and probe contact assemblies according to customer drawings to improve signal pickup consistency.
AC parameter testing: detects signal frequency, peak or RMS amplitude, phase difference, impedance characteristics, harmonic distortion, and signal-to-noise ratio. Shielding enclosures and connector mounting plates often need to be fitted to specific tester interfaces. We provide custom machining of these structural parts.
Digital logic testing: verifies timing matching and level compatibility of digital circuits, and automatically checks instruction execution and peripheral interfaces such as USB, RS232, Ethernet, and HDMI on embedded chips like FPGAs and MCUs. Interface test boards, fixture plates, and alignment pins can be machined to match the target board outline and connector layout.
2. System-level Functional and Reliability Testing
Operating condition simulation: automatically runs power-on, mode switching, and load loading sequences to confirm product functions under simulated working conditions. Load modules and switching fixtures typically require non-standard mounting structures.
Environmental linkage testing: works with external temperature and humidity chambers, vibration tables, and other equipment to verify performance stability under extreme conditions. Hansheng Automation supports machining of insulating spacers, chamber adapters, and vibration fixture plates used in these integrated test setups.
Burn-in screening: supports long-duration continuous testing to identify products with early failure risks. Burn-in boards and sockets are critical in this process. We can machine burn-in board frames, socket housings, and locking mechanisms based on customer design files.
3. Automation and Data Management
Batch unattended testing: standardized test programs allow automatic cyclic testing of multiple units or batches, reducing manual operation errors. Automated loading and unloading mechanisms rely on precision guides and positioning parts.
Full data traceability: test data for each unit is automatically collected and stored, with standardized reports generated for process quality analysis.
Automatic sorting of defective products: products are sorted into pass, fail, and re-inspection groups based on preset thresholds. Sorting mechanisms require custom guides, stops, and bin structures. Hansheng Automation can machine these non-standard mechanical parts to fit existing handler or test cell layouts.
Overall, stable ATE operation depends on precise test fixtures, interface boards, burn-in boards, shielding enclosures, and sorting structures. Hansheng Automation focuses on custom machining of these components for ATE integrators and test houses, supporting prototyping and small-batch production.
