Floating bond points are usually caused by incorrect welding parameters or an unsuitable welding process. The first step is to adjust the bonding parameters, such as ultrasonic power, bonding time, bonding force, and stage speed, so that the welding interface can form a stable connection. If the parameters have already been optimized but floating still occurs, consider changing the bonding method, such as using a different wire loop profile, increasing bond force within the allowable range, or adjusting the bond head height to ensure the wedge makes full contact with the pad surface.

 

In addition to parameter and process adjustment, equipment condition should also be checked. Worn bonding wedges, loose workpiece fixtures, or unstable X/Y table movement can all cause inconsistent contact and result in floating points. If the bonding wedge tip is worn or the fixture cannot hold the workpiece firmly, these parts should be repaired or replaced in time.
