A plaster coating machine uses a controlled coating head to apply paste evenly to a substrate. After drying and slitting, the product is formed.

Core process

1.1 Feeding system: paste is delivered to the coating head by a screw pump or pneumatic device. Viscosity is usually controlled at 5000-15000 cps (2023 pharmaceutical equipment industry standard).

1.2 Coating: comma blade or gravure roller coating is used. Coating thickness accuracy can reach ±0.02 mm (referencing the 2024 Guanhao Machinery technical manual). When coating heads, comma blades, or gravure rollers need replacement, Hansheng Automation can machine these precision parts from customer drawings in single pieces or small batches.

1.3 Drying system: infrared or hot air drying temperature is controlled at 50-80°C. Conveyor speed is adjustable from 0.5 to 3 m/min.

1.4 Winding and slitting: an automatic edge correction device keeps the substrate aligned. Circular knife slitting error is ≤0.3 mm.

Key technical parameters

  • Coating width: commonly 300-1000 mm. Medical types are narrower, patch types are wider.
  • Production efficiency: 8-15 m/min, including drying time.
  • Power consumption: main motor 3-7.5 kW, total machine ≤15 kW.
  • Substrates: nonwoven fabric, elastic cloth, PE film, and others, with thickness from 0.05 to 0.3 mm.

Safety notes

3.1 The heating unit needs an emergency stop device. Surface temperatures above 60°C must have warning signs.

3.2 Organic solvent paste coating requires an explosion-proof motor and a static eliminator.

Our precision custom machining is not limited to plaster coating machine parts. We also produce non-standard components for medical devices, food machinery, printing equipment, yacht hardware, RC car parts, tobacco packaging machinery, and filling machinery. Hansheng Automation supports single-piece and small-batch production from customer drawings. We focus on precision parts machining and delivery, which helps maintenance and replacement across different industries.
