Common faults on waxy corn premade bag vacuum packaging machines include the vacuum chamber cover not closing, low vacuum level, the cover not opening after closing, and smoke from the vacuum pump. The causes and solutions are described below.
Fault 1: The vacuum chamber cover does not close
Causes:
The vacuum pump runs in reverse. When the vacuum pump motor runs in reverse, noise is high and the vacuum chamber cover does not close.
Travel switch problem. If the travel switch does not reset, the cover does not close.
Solutions:
Vacuum pump reverse rotation: Swap the vacuum pump power line phases to correct motor rotation.
Travel switch problem: Adjust the travel switch so it returns to the correct position.
Fault 2: Low vacuum level in packaged products
Causes:
Insufficient vacuum pump power. When the vacuum pump oil level is below 2/3 or 3/4 of the oil sight glass, pump power drops and product vacuum level is affected. Waxy corn premade bag vacuum packaging machines use secondary vacuum pumping and require a high vacuum level.
Damaged vacuum bag. The vacuum bag may be damaged during production or use, causing low vacuum.
Heating bar, isolation cloth, and air bag problems. If the heating bar or air bag is broken or damaged, sealing quality is affected. The bag may not seal tightly, which affects vacuum level.
Solutions:
Insufficient vacuum pump power: Keep vacuum pump oil at the 2/3 or 3/4 level of the oil sight glass. Avoid too much or too little oil.
Damaged vacuum bag: Check the packaging bag and replace it if damaged.
Heating bar, isolation cloth, and air bag problems: Replace the faulty air bag and heating bar. Replace the isolation cloth if it is damaged.
These faults involve travel switch brackets, vacuum chamber seals, heating bars, isolation cloth, air bags, deflation valves, and vacuum pump connectors, which often need replacement or custom production by drawing. Fault 3: The vacuum chamber cover does not open after closing
Causes:
Delay timer or delay system problem. The delay timer or delay system is damaged or has shifted.
Deflation valve fault. The deflation valve does not work.
Solutions:
Delay timer or delay system problem: Adjust the delay time in the control system and check the delay system. If a fault occurs, restore factory settings or contact the manufacturer for an update or repair.
Deflation valve fault: Adjust, repair, or replace the deflation valve so it works normally.
Fault 4: Smoke from the vacuum pump
Causes:
No oil in the vacuum pump. The operator did not check the oil level, so the pump ran without vacuum pump oil.
Improper trial run. During trial operation, the suction port was connected directly to the atmosphere and ran for more than 3 minutes. Moisture entered the vacuum pump, contaminated the rotary vanes, and polluted the pump oil.
Solutions:
No oil in the vacuum pump: Clean the vacuum pump and add new pump oil.
Improper trial run: Replace the vacuum pump oil and replace the oil filter and air filter at the same time.
If a fault is not covered above, contact the manufacturer's technical personnel. Vacuum packaging machines, especially waxy corn premade bag vacuum packaging machines, have complex assemblies. If non-manufacturer personnel disassemble the machine without authorization, they may not be able to reassemble it.
