Film deviation in vertical granular packing machines can lead to misaligned seals, wrinkled bags, and unstable production. The main causes and corresponding solutions are as follows.

Causes

Incorrect installation of the lapel-type former
Medium and large vertical granular packing machines use a lapel-type former for bag making. If the former is not installed in the correct position during replacement, the film path will shift.

Damaged former
If the surface of the former is struck by hard objects and becomes uneven, the friction on the film contact surface changes, causing the film to run off track.

Loose fixing collar
The packaging film is held in place by a fixing collar. If the collar becomes loose, the film can shift during operation.

Brake failure on the film unwinding device
A faulty brake system causes the roller to rotate without proper control, making film tension unstable and leading to deviation.

Improper film installation position
If the film roll is not centered on the shaft during installation, uneven tension on the two sides will cause the film to drift to one side during operation.

Roller detachment
If a roller on the film feeding device comes loose or falls off, the film transport path is disrupted and the film cannot follow its intended route.

Solutions

Install the lapel-type former correctly
Follow the manual strictly when replacing the former to ensure accurate positioning and avoid film deviation caused by installation error.

Avoid striking the former with hard objects
Handle the former carefully during daily use to prevent surface deformation. If the former is already damaged, replace it promptly.

Secure the film and check the fixing collar
When installing the film roll, center it on the shaft and make sure the fixing collar is tightened. After installation, manually turn the film roll to check whether it is firmly held before starting the machine.

Inspect and repair the brake system
When brake failure occurs, check the brake circuit for short circuits or open circuits, and inspect brake components such as brake pads and springs for wear or damage. Replace faulty parts as needed.

Adjust the film position
Use the "film left/right adjustment" button on the touchscreen to fine-tune the film position and bring it back to the center. Make adjustments gradually to avoid overcorrection.

Check and refasten detached rollers
If a roller has come loose or fallen off, stop the machine and reinstall or secure the roller properly before resuming operation.
