The Baotou sand and gravel grading screen and coal slag rotary drum screening machine offers the following features.

Structural and Performance Advantages
The rotary drum screen has a simple structure, low energy consumption, and good sealing performance, effectively preventing dust emission. It operates stably with low noise, and screening efficiency can reach over 95%. The equipment occupies little space, has a long service life, and requires only simple daily maintenance. For core components such as drum shells, screen panels, and wear-resistant support rings, Hansheng Automation provides custom machining according to customer drawings.

Screening Principle
The machine uses a rotary screening method in which material continuously rolls and tumbles inside the drum. The shaftless drum is mounted on the frame at an inclined angle. The motor drives the reducer, which is connected to the drum through a coupling, causing the drum to rotate around its axis. After entering the drum, the material rolls and turns on the screen surface due to the inclination and rotation. Qualified material, or undersize product, is discharged through the outlet at the bottom of the rear end of the drum, while oversized material is discharged through the tail outlet. This design effectively reduces screen blockage and lowers the machine failure rate.

Applicable Materials and Screening Specifications
The rotary drum screen is suitable for screening metallurgical materials, stone powder, coke, coal gangue, pebbles, coal, lump coal, stone, sand, placer gold ore, lime, and many other materials. It is used in construction sites, coal yards, grain processing, firework factories, foundries, seedling nurseries, medicinal material processing, and construction mortar production. It can handle various types of waste and wet, easily clogged materials. Screen product sizes include 200 mm with customizable holes, intermediate sizes of 20–40 mm with customizable holes, and fine products below 5 mm with self-defined screen apertures. The equipment is equipped with a self-cleaning device, is wear-resistant and durable, and is suitable for outdoor environments.

Comparison with Other Screening Machines

Rotary drum screen: High output and long service life, suitable for high-volume requirements. When materials contain many large stones or are highly viscous and vibrating screens perform poorly due to excessive vibration, the drum screen is the better choice.

Linear vibrating screen: Low output, suitable for fine materials, but less effective for dusty and small-particle materials. In such cases, the drum screen has an advantage.

Circular vibrating screen: High output, suitable for medium and large production lines. It resists screen blockage when screening dry materials and performs better than the drum screen in those conditions.
