In the field of precision manufacturing - where technical depth and long-term accumulation matter most - Hansheng is a relatively young brand. Yet it has already earned the trust of customers across demanding industries including tobacco machinery, food packaging, automation, and semiconductors. How did they get there? We sat down with Hansheng's General Manager and Gear Manufacturing Engineer to find out.

Interview with the General Manager

01.Can you give us an overview of Hansheng's core business?

Our business is built around three core services and four key product lines.
The three core services are gear manufacturing, precision CNC machining, and precision casting. On the gear manufacturing side, we run a Kashifuji KPS30 gear skiving machine alongside precision grinding equipment, achieving machining accuracy up to ISO/DIN/GB Level 5, with module range 0.1–5.0 and tip diameter from 3mm to 300mm. Our precision CNC machining covers a full accuracy spectrum - from standard turning and milling at ±0.01mm all the way to super mirror-finish machining at ±0.002mm. For casting, we handle maximum part sizes up to 3800×1500×1200mm with a specified tolerance of ±0.03mm, supporting sand casting, lost foam casting, and gravity casting.
The four product lines are CAM Indexers, Hollow Rotary Tables, Planetary Gearboxes, and Harmonic Drives - all with accuracy specifications that rank among the highest in their respective categories.
Because we manufacture our own gears in-house, we maintain full-chain control over product precision. We don't rely on outsourcing, which means when an issue arises, we solve it ourselves. That's what genuine technical ownership looks like.

02.Your customers span tobacco machinery, food packaging, semiconductors, and automation. What do these industries have in common when it comes to precision manufacturing?

One thing: they cannot afford mistakes.
Tobacco packaging machines run at extremely high speeds - one imprecise transmission component and the line stops. Food packaging demands tight cycle times and repeatable positioning. Semiconductor equipment operates at tolerances where even micron-level deviations are unacceptable.
Serving these demanding industries has pushed us to continuously raise our own standards. I always remind our team: we're not supplying parts that are "good enough to get by." We're helping our customers' machines run with stability. Those are two very different things.

03.There are many precision transmission and machining companies in the market. Why do customers choose Hansheng?

We are already very competitive on pricing, and we're open to working with customers who need flexibility on that front. But what we truly want to win is trust.

Our differentiation comes down to three things. First, technical completeness - we combine in-house gear manufacturing, precision CNC machining, casting, and transmission products, which means most precision manufacturing challenges can be solved entirely within our own operation. Second, speed of response - with a focused team, there are no layers between engineering, process, and production. When a customer brings a custom requirement, we can turn around a real, actionable solution quickly. Third, genuine precision assurance - every specification we publish is backed by real capability. We let our data and our service do the talking.

When customers choose Hansheng, they're not just choosing a supplier. They're choosing a partner who is genuinely invested in solving their problems.

04.Hansheng talks about customization a lot. What does that actually mean to you?

For us, customization starts at the level of precision specifications - not surface changes like color or mounting holes.

For example, our standard CAM Indexer accuracy is ±30 arc sec. When a customer's application demands more, we can customize down to ±15 arc sec. Our Planetary Gearboxes come in three precision grades - P0, P1, and P2 - with backlash as low as ≤1 arc min. These aren't marketing claims. They're real manufacturing capabilities.

My understanding of customization is simple: the customer has a problem, and we find the right solution. Sometimes that means adjusting precision targets. Sometimes it means modifying a structure. Sometimes it means designing a solution from the ground up. Whatever the customer needs, we find a way to deliver it - that's the whole point of what we do.

05.After all these years in precision manufacturing, what do you think is the hardest part?

Maintaining standards - consistently. That's the hardest thing.

Equipment wears. People get tired. Delivery pressure builds. But tolerances don't loosen themselves just because you're having a difficult day. Our customers' machines are running. They don't care about your problems.

That's why we keep investing in equipment, and why we never cut corners on inspection. We have dedicated gear inspection machines, and we run high-precision equipment including the Seibu WEDM M50B. The purpose is always the same: to ensure that every single part leaving our facility meets exactly what we promised.

06.What's the one thing you'd most want to say to a customer considering working with Hansheng?

Bring us your problem.

Whether you've hit a precision bottleneck in your current setup, you're developing a new machine and need a transmission or machining solution, or you simply have a technical question - come talk to us. We won't start by pitching products. We'll start by listening.

After all these years, what gives us the most satisfaction isn't how many products we've sold. It's when a customer says: "We couldn't solve this problem for a long time - and then we found you." Solving real problems for real customers. That's what we're here to do.

01.What is your role at Hansheng?

I'm responsible for gear machining processes and quality control. From the moment a customer's drawing or requirement comes in, to the moment a finished, qualified gear goes out - I'm involved at every step.

02.What level of precision can your gear manufacturing achieve, and what gives you the equipment advantage?

Our gear machining accuracy reaches up to ISO/DIN/GB Level 5. We achieve this consistently through a combination of machines - including the Japanese Kashifuji KPS30, the Ningjiang CNC Horizontal Gear Hobbing Machine YK3610Ⅳ, a Nachi broaching machine, and precision gear grinding equipment - along with years of accumulated process refinement on each of them.

We cover module range 0.1 to 5.0 and tip diameters from 3mm to 300mm, which gives us a wide enough range to handle the requirements of most customers we work with.

03.Customer expectations around gear precision keep rising. How do you keep up?

It's true - especially customers in semiconductors and high-end automation. Their standards keep moving up. Our approach isn't complicated: we never skip inspection.

Every batch goes through our dedicated gear inspection equipment before it ships. If the data doesn't meet spec, it goes back for rework. No exceptions. Over time, this has become part of how we work - not a burden, just a habit. Customers trust us because they know we won't take shortcuts at this stage. And honestly, holding that standard keeps pushing our own processes to get better.
