The dynamic extraction tank is suitable for processes in the traditional Chinese medicine, food, and chemical industries, including atmospheric pressure, micro-pressure, water decoction, warm immersion, hot reflux, forced circulation, percolation, aromatic oil extraction, and organic solvent recovery. The inner cylinder is made of imported SUS304, the jacket is insulated with fully enclosed aluminum silicate blanket, and the outer cylinder is finished with SUS304 matte sheet. The tank is equipped with a CIP rotating spray ball, temperature measurement port, explosion-proof sight glass light, sight glass, and quick-opening feed port. The complete set of accessories includes a demister, condenser, cooler, oil-water separator, filter, air cylinder, and control console.
In operation, the medicinal materials are first loaded into the tank, and a solvent such as water, ethanol, methanol, or acetone is added at 5 to 10 times the amount of the materials, depending on the process. The straight-through and jacket steam valves are opened to heat the extraction liquid to boiling, which usually takes 20 to 30 minutes. After boiling, about one third of the extract is drawn out through the filter pipe and sent to the concentrator for preliminary concentration. The straight-through and jacket steam valves are then closed, and the heater is turned on to continue concentrating the remaining liquid in the tank. The secondary steam generated rises and passes through the evaporator, providing a continuous heat source to maintain boiling in the tank. After being cooled by the condenser, the secondary steam forms hot condensate, which returns to the extraction tank as fresh solvent and flows through the herbal material layer. This high-volume reflux extraction maintains a high concentration gradient between the materials and the solvent, accelerating the dissolution of solutes. When the extract becomes colorless, it indicates that the active components have been almost completely dissolved. At this point, liquid is no longer drawn into the concentrator, and the secondary steam from concentration is directed to the cooler to continue concentrating until the specific gravity reaches 1.2 to 1.34. After concentration, the paste can be collected. The colorless liquid in the tank can be stored for the next batch, and the residue is discharged through the discharge door. If an organic solvent is used, an appropriate amount of water should be added before extraction, and the residue is discharged after heating.
