An inverted take-up machine can jam for several reasons. The most common causes are dirt on the wheels, worn slide rails, and rough wire. We can machine guide wheels, slide rail seats, bearing housings, and traverse wheels from customer drawings, in single pieces or small batches.
1. Dirt or debris on the wheels
Dust, chips, and oil sludge on the wheels prevent smooth rotation. This raises resistance during take-up and shows up as jamming. Check the wheel surface and bearing seats. Clean buildup and confirm free rotation. If the wheel is worn or the bearing is damaged, replace it. Hansheng Automation can machine replacement guide wheels and wheel shafts from drawings.
2. Damaged or worn slide rails
Worn, deformed, dry, or contaminated slide rails can stop the take-up wheel from moving smoothly. Rough wire or unstable tension adds resistance on the rails. Check rail straightness, clearance, and lubrication. Remove debris. Replace rails or sliders if needed.
3. Other possible causes
Dry or damaged bearings, timing belts that are too tight or too loose, an eccentric traverse mechanism, excessive take-up tension, and rough or burred wire can also cause jamming. To troubleshoot, first turn the machine by hand to locate mechanical resistance. Then run at low speed with no load and watch wheel and rail movement. Finally, run with material and adjust tension and traverse settings.
Beyond inverted take-up machines, our precision custom machining capability is not limited to one industry. Hansheng Automation can machine non-standard metal parts for filling machinery, tobacco packaging machinery, and printing equipment from customer drawings. We also machine yacht components, RC car components, and specialized parts for food machinery and medical devices. We focus on build-to-print custom machining and produce single pieces or small batches according to customer drawings. We do not sell complete machines.
