A score slitter can crack corrugated board for several reasons:

Improper equipment setup, with too small a gap between scoring wheels.

Poor inner liner quality or too low a basis weight.

Unbalanced paper combination, such as a weak inner liner paired with high-strength corrugating medium. In plain terms, the flutes are too hard.

Too low board moisture.

Fixes:

If you cannot change the paper combination, adjust the equipment first. If that does not solve it, adjust board moisture content and run the job on a score slitter with pre-scoring lines.

When scoring wheels or other precision parts need replacement, we machine custom parts from customer drawings in single pieces or small batches.

Our precision custom machining is not limited to score slitter parts. Hansheng Automation also produces non-standard components for printing equipment, food machinery, medical devices, yacht hardware, RC car parts, tobacco packaging machinery, and filling machinery. We work from customer drawings for single pieces or small batches. The focus stays on precision parts machining and delivery, which keeps maintenance and replacement flexible across different industries.
