When a flat vulcanizing press moves downward but cannot rise, the problem may be related to pressure leakage in the hydraulic circuit or an incorrect relief valve setting. Inspection should focus on the hydraulic components downstream of the pump and the pressure control system.

Pressure leakage in hydraulic components

Start by checking the hydraulic components downstream of the oil pump, including the relief valve, pressure regulating valve, angle valve, and sequence valve.

These valves are fitted with sealing rings during installation. If a sealing ring is damaged, hydraulic oil may leak, preventing the system from building enough pressure to raise the press.

Inspect the relevant components for damaged seals. Replace any defective sealing rings to restore the hydraulic circuit's sealing performance.

Incorrect relief valve setting

Check whether the relief valve is set correctly. If its pressure setting is too low, the valve may open as soon as the hydraulic pressure reaches the set value, allowing oil to flow back into the reservoir.

At the same time, the electrical contact circuit of the pressure gauge may switch off the hydraulic pump motor. The pump then stops building pressure, preventing the press from rising.

Adjust the relief valve setting according to the required operating pressure so that the press can operate under normal pressure conditions.

Troubleshooting and corrective action

When a flat vulcanizing press moves down but fails to rise, inspect the hydraulic circuit and relief valve setting in sequence. Replace damaged sealing rings where necessary, and verify that the relief valve is set correctly.

The actual cause should be identified through inspection before repairs are carried out. Any adjustment or maintenance work must follow the equipment's operating and safety procedures.
