A grinding machine uses a lap coated or embedded with abrasive to process the workpiece surface. It is mainly used for high-precision flat surfaces, internal and external cylindrical surfaces, conical surfaces, spherical surfaces, and other complex profiles. By structure, it includes disc type, spindle type, and special-purpose grinding machines.

Single-side grinding machine
The workpiece is placed on the grinding disc. The disc rotates counterclockwise. The workpiece rotates on its own axis under the action of a correction wheel, with gravity applying pressure. The relative motion between workpiece and disc creates friction for grinding and polishing. The disc dressing mechanism moves back and forth on a hydraulic floating guide. A diamond dressing tool precisely dresses the grinding surface to get the desired flatness.
We can machine custom grinding discs, correction wheels, carriers, and other precision parts from customer drawings, for single-piece or low-volume production.

Double-side grinding machine
The upper and lower grinding discs rotate in opposite directions. The workpiece performs a planetary motion inside the carrier, both revolving and rotating. This motion creates low grinding resistance and does not damage the workpiece. It grinds both sides evenly and improves efficiency. A grating thickness control system precisely controls the height tolerance of the finished product. A double-side grinding machine is more complex. It includes two grinding discs, carriers, four motors, a sun gear, and a dressing machine.

A double-side grinding machine is more complex than a single-side machine. When double-side grinding is needed, its efficiency is twice that of a single-side machine. It is widely used for silicon wafers, sapphire substrates, epitaxial wafers, and similar parts in the optical glass industry.

Our custom precision component machining capability is not limited to grinding equipment. Beyond grinding discs, correction wheels, carriers, and shaft parts, we also machine yacht precision components, RC car structural parts, medical device parts, and non-standard parts for tobacco packaging machinery, filling machinery, and food machinery. Hansheng Automation works from customer drawings and production quantities to deliver single-piece or low-volume precision machining.
