There are four main types of tools for clamping between two rotating ends:
1. Precision mechanical chuck
• Representative product: Swiss Tecnopinz series (ETS/ETA models)
Working principle: Self centering clamping is achieved through the precise fit between the inner conical surface of the nut and the outer conical surface of the chuck
Key parameters: Radial runout accuracy ≤ 0.003mm, clamping force range 50-5000N
• Typical applications: Ultra precision scenarios such as optical lens processing and medical implant manufacturing
2. Pneumatic rotary clamp
• Representative model: Kao Shi Mei WHA/WHC series
• Core features:
Adopting a force doubling mechanism design
Working pressure 0.1-1MPa
Standard 90 ° rotation function
Industrial applications: automatic machining production lines, press fit processes, etc
3. Tiger pliers (mechanical)
• Classification:
⊙ Fixed/Rotary (capable of 360 ° rotation)
With anvil type (also serving as a striking platform)/without anvil type
• Clamping force: Manual type usually 500-2000N, hydraulic type can reach 10kN
4. Spiral chuck
• Feature: Progressive clamping achieved through spiral mechanical structure
• Advantages:
No external power source required
Typical clamping range 1-50mm
⊙ Commonly used for fixing lathe tools
Selection comparison:
|Type | Accuracy Level | Clamping Force Range | Applicable Scenarios|
|--------------|------------|------------|------------------------|
|Precision mechanical chuck | ≤ 0.005mm | 50-5000N | Ultra precision machining|
|Pneumatic Clamping Device | ± 0.02mm | 200-8000N | Automated Production Line|
|Tiger pliers | ± 0.1mm | 500-10000N | General mechanical processing|
|Spiral chuck | ± 0.01mm | 100-3000N | Fixed small parts|
