A traditional multi-spindle drilling machine is commonly called a multi-spindle head, multi-hole drill, or multi-spindle drilling unit. It is a machine tool for drilling and tapping in mechanical fields. It has a history of more than 30 years. It entered the domestic market relatively late. Traditional multi-spindle heads have limits in rigidity and accuracy, so many companies have not heard of them.
Development and imported designs
In the late 1990s, to solve the limits of multi-spindle heads, rectangular guideway integral multi-spindle drilling machines and multi-spindle combination drilling machines were introduced from Japan. They have good rigidity and suit various hole diameters. They are widely used in batch processing industries such as automotive, motorcycle, valve, and pump manufacturing.
Current capability
At present, domestic multi-spindle drilling machines can process 1 to 50 holes at the same time. The largest can process four φ50 holes simultaneously. Based on the multi-spindle drilling machine, multi-spindle combination machine tools have been developed. They can process multiple stations or multiple faces at the same time, as well as multi-spindle drilling and tapping combination machines. Common forms include simple combination machines with power heads, rotary table combination machines, and slide rail combination machines.
If a multi-spindle head, spindle box, fixture, or drive part wears, we can machine replacements from customer drawings, in single pieces or small batches. Hansheng Automation works to drawing dimensions and assembly clearances.
Our precision parts machining service is not limited to multi-spindle drilling machines. Hansheng Automation can machine custom parts from drawings for automotive parts, valve and pump parts, motorcycle parts, hydraulic equipment parts, and medical device parts. We also cover yacht precision fittings, RC car structural parts, and food packaging machinery parts. Single pieces and small batches are both available, with attention to material, tolerance, surface finish, and assembly fit.
