Air loss has a major effect on take-up work in a water tank wire drawing machine. It can cause immediate take-up failure, scrap the wire, and damage the machine itself. At Hansheng Automation, we machine pneumatic chuck parts, tension regulator parts, and traverse mechanism parts from customer drawings, in single pieces or small batches.

1. Core role of pneumatic control at the take-up station

The take-up station uses compressed air for three main control actions:

The pneumatic chuck clamps the take-up shaft. It fixes the wire end and keeps the basic clamping force for take-up, so the wire does not slip.

The pneumatic tension regulator works with the take-up motor. It stabilizes wire tension during take-up and prevents wire breakage or looseness.

The pneumatic traverse mechanism drives the traverse frame back and forth. It makes the wire wind evenly and neatly on the take-up shaft.

2. Effects after air loss

Immediate failure: The moment air is lost, the pneumatic chuck loses clamping force. The take-up shaft cannot hold the wire. The wire slips between the high-speed drawing capstan and the take-up shaft. Its surface is scratched and it becomes a reject. At the same time, the traverse mechanism loses pneumatic power and cannot move back and forth in sync. The wire piles up in one local area of the take-up shaft and forms a tangle.

Batch scrap risk: If the machine is not stopped and checked in time, the whole reel can suffer tension loss and local pileup. The reel cannot meet downstream requirements for straightness and uniformity and is scrapped.

Equipment damage: If the take-up station is forced to start after a tangle builds up, the wire can break. The tangled wire can also jam the traverse frame and damage the take-up spindle. In severe cases, it can burn out the take-up motor or bend the drawing capstan, raising repair cost.

3. Emergency response

After air loss, press the emergency stop immediately and cut power to the take-up motor. After the pneumatic system returns to normal supply pressure, qualified maintenance personnel should check for air line leaks, solenoid valve faults, and low air compressor supply. Confirm the pneumatic circuit is normal before restarting. Do not force start the take-up station when air pressure is lost.

Beyond water tank drawing machines, our precision custom machining capability is not limited to drawing and take-up equipment. Hansheng Automation can machine yacht precision components, RC car precision components, tobacco packaging machinery parts, and filling machinery parts from customer drawings. We also machine non-standard metal parts for medical devices, printing machinery, and food machinery. We focus on build-to-print custom machining and produce single pieces or small batches according to customer drawings. We do not sell complete machines.
