Choosing grain conveying equipment depends on grain type, conveying distance, lift height, and the working environment. The main types fall into four groups: belt conveyors, scraper conveyors, screw conveyors, and bucket elevators.
Belt conveyor
Core feature: An endless belt runs on friction drive and conveys material horizontally or at a small incline.
Main types: General-purpose belt for flexible routing. Cleated or sidewall belt for steep inclines and reduced spillage. Pipe or tubular belt for enclosed, dust-controlled transport.
Applications: Long-distance horizontal conveying for bulk grain out of storage, bin transfer, and port loading and unloading. High capacity and very low grain breakage.
Scraper conveyor
Core feature: A chain pulls scraper blades through a closed trough, pushing material forward.
Main types: MS type en masse scraper for horizontal conveying. MC type for vertical lifting.
Applications: Bin distribution and horizontal conveying in grain depots. It supports multiple feed and discharge points and provides good enclosure.
Screw conveyor
Core feature: A rotating screw flight pushes material forward in an enclosed trough.
Main types: U-trough for short horizontal runs. Tubular for small inclines. Shaftless screw for sticky materials.
Applications: Short-distance conveying, such as from a feeding inlet to an elevator or to a packing machine. Equipment cost is low, but grain breakage is more likely. For screw conveyors and bucket elevators, Hansheng Automation can machine custom screw flights, wear plates, sprockets, and food-contact parts from customer drawings, in single pieces or small batches.
Bucket elevator
Core feature: A bucket belt runs around a head pulley and a bottom pulley. Buckets mounted on the belt lift material vertically or at a steep incline.
Main types: Belt type for high speed. Chain type for heavy loads. NE type plate chain for high efficiency and energy saving.
Applications: A core unit for grain intake and discharge and for vertical lifting in processing plants. It reaches high lift heights and takes up little floor space.
Selection parameters
Conveying capacity in t/h. Conveying distance or lift height in m. Equipment power in kW. Grain type, bulk density, and moisture content.
Safety
Operation and maintenance must follow safety rules. During cleaning and repair, cut the main power and apply lockout and tagout. This prevents accidental start and mechanical injury.
Beyond grain conveying equipment, our precision component customization serves more than one industry. We machine tobacco packaging machinery parts, yacht precision components, filling machinery parts, RC car precision components, medical device parts, printing machinery parts, and food machinery parts. Hansheng Automation works from customer drawings and delivers one-off or batch parts to the required material, tolerance, and surface finish. Our scope is precision components, not complete machines.
