A complete edible oil refining line has four main workshops: pretreatment, pressing or extraction, refining, and filling. Equipment selection depends on the oilseed type and the process route.
Pretreatment workshop
Purpose: Clean, dehull, crush, and condition oilseeds so they are ready for oil extraction.
Core equipment:
Screening machine: Removes stones, dust, and other impurities from oilseeds.
Dehuller: Separates shells from oilseeds such as peanut and sunflower seed.
Crusher: Breaks oilseeds to a suitable particle size.
Conditioner: Adjusts moisture and temperature before flaking.
Flaking mill: Presses oilseeds into thin flakes to improve oil yield.
Steam cooker: Breaks down cell structure through steaming and cooking to help oil release.
Magnetic separator, vibrating screen, and destoner: Remove metal particles and remaining stones.
Hansheng Automation can machine custom screens, press worms, filter parts, and food-contact components from customer drawings, in single pieces or small batches.
Pressing or extraction workshop
Purpose: Extract oil by physical or chemical methods. There are three process routes.
Pressing: An oil press uses mechanical force to squeeze out oil. It suits high-oil-content seeds such as sesame and walnut.
Solvent extraction: A solvent such as n-hexane dissolves and extracts oil. It suits low-oil-content seeds such as soybean and rice bran.
Pre-pressing plus extraction: Combines pressing and extraction. Most oil is removed by pressing first, then residual oil is extracted with solvent. This raises oil yield.
Core equipment:
Oil press for pressing: screw press or hydraulic press.
Extraction equipment for solvent extraction: rotocel extractor, loop extractor, and similar systems.
Desolventizer-toaster: Removes solvent and dries the meal.
Refining workshop
Purpose: Remove gums, free fatty acids, water, pigments, odors, and optionally wax from crude oil.
Core equipment: Complete sets for degumming, deacidification, dehydration, decolorization, and deodorization. Dewaxing equipment is optional.
Filling workshop
Purpose: Package refined oil as finished goods. This includes filling, sealing, coding, and labeling.
Core equipment:
Filling machine: Meters oil into bottles or drums according to specification.
Labeling machine: Applies labels automatically.
Inkjet coder: Prints production date and batch number.
Case packer and palletizer: Automate packing and stacking.
Quality control: Before filling, test acid value, peroxide value, moisture, and aflatoxin. Nonconforming product must be reworked.
Summary
A complete edible oil refining line needs:
Pretreatment: screening machine, dehuller, crusher, flaking mill, steam cooker, and similar equipment.
Pressing or extraction: oil press or extraction equipment, desolventizer-toaster.
Refining: degumming, deacidification, dehydration, decolorization, and deodorization sets, with optional dewaxing.
Filling: filling machine, labeling machine, inkjet coder, case packer, and similar equipment.
Equipment selection should be customized based on oilseed type, such as soybean, rapeseed, or peanut, and process needs, such as pressing or extraction. This ensures production efficiency and product quality.
Beyond oil refining equipment, our precision component customization covers more than one industry. We machine filling machinery parts, tobacco packaging machinery parts, yacht precision components, RC car precision components, printing machinery parts, food machinery parts, and medical device components. Hansheng Automation works from customer drawings and delivers one-off or batch parts to the required material, tolerance, and surface finish. Our scope is precision components, not complete machines.
