There are three main types of core equipment used for vertical material transport in building construction, each suited to specific operational needs:

1. Construction Hoist (Construction Elevator)

Equipment Overview: A dual-purpose vertical transport unit for both personnel and materials, consisting of a cage, a drive mechanism, and mast sections.

Key Features: Uses a rack-and-pinion drive system for stable vertical movement between floors; capable of transporting workers and small-to-medium-sized building materials simultaneously; equipped with comprehensive safety systems; particularly well-suited for high-rise construction.

2. Tower Crane

Equipment Overview: An overhead jib-style lifting device featuring an integrated steel structure composed of a rotating jib, a counter-jib, and the tower mast.

Key Features: Offers a horizontal operating radius of up to 100 meters; equipped with a trolley for precise lifting of heavy components such as prefabricated panels and steel structures; features a dual-hook design that allows switching between different load capacities; serves as the primary lifting equipment during the main structural construction phase.

3. Material Hoist

Equipment Overview: A simple derrick-style unit driven by a winch, comprising modules such as a guide rail frame, a lifting platform (or skip), and a cable-break safety device.

Key Features: Designed specifically for transporting bulk materials; costs only one-third as much as a construction hoist; suitable for the continuous transport of materials like masonry blocks and mortar; strictly prohibits personnel transport; commonly used during the finishing and decoration stages of buildings under six stories.
