What are the disassembly steps for an electric drill chuck without built-in screws

Core logic for disassembling drill chuck without built-in screws: Unlock the connection between chuck and drill body by reverse rotation, and complete disassembly with external assistance
1. Preliminary preparation and safety inspection
-Disconnect the power supply of the electric drill, remove the battery (unplug the plug for plug-in models), to avoid accidental triggering and injury
-Prepare auxiliary tools: rubber hammer/rubber rod, cotton cloth, anti slip gloves, some situations require the use of specialized clamp wrenches
-Confirm clamp type: Clams without built-in screws are generally drill clamps (three jaw type), divided into hand tight and non hand tight types, with consistent disassembly logic
2. Non hand tight clamp disassembly steps
Fully open the chuck to the maximum, exposing the threaded connection at the front end of the drill body
Insert the specialized chuck wrench into one of the jaws of the chuck, hold the wrench rod and rotate it in the opposite direction (usually counterclockwise) to loosen the threaded connection between the chuck and the drill body
If the wrench cannot pry, wrap the clamp body with cotton cloth and gently tap the side of the clamp with a rubber hammer to assist in loosening the thread
Continue to rotate counterclockwise with the wrench until the clamp can be directly unscrewed from the drill shaft, completing the disassembly
3. Disassembly steps of hand tight clamp
Similarly, open the clamp to the maximum, hold the clamp body with anti slip gloves, rotate the clamp counterclockwise, and try to loosen it by hand
If it cannot be rotated by hand, you can use a cotton cloth to increase friction and then twist it, or gently tap the tail of the clamp with a rubber hammer to apply force
When there is a loose gap in the chuck, simply unscrew the chuck from the drill shaft
4. Handling of special circumstances
-If the clamp is rusted and cannot rotate: spray loosening agent on the threaded connection, let it stand for 10 minutes, and then try to disassemble it using the above method
-Attention: It is strictly prohibited to directly strike the chuck body with metal hard objects to avoid damaging the chuck accuracy or drill body threads
