An automatic carton sealing machine consists of several core components. Through mechanical transmission and automated control, it completes carton conveying, flap folding, and sealing. The following is a detailed explanation.

1. Components of an Automatic Carton Sealing Machine

The machine is composed of the following parts, which work together to convey, fold, and seal cartons:

Frame: The main structural body that supports all components and ensures stability.

Worktable adjustable legs: Used to adjust the table height to accommodate cartons of different sizes.

Conveyor belt: Transports cartons from the inlet to the sealing area, typically using belt or roller structure.

Power switch: Controls the machine's power on and off.

Emergency stop switch: Immediately stops the machine in an emergency to ensure operational safety.

Guide rods: Keep the carton moving in a straight line during conveying and prevent deviation.

Guide rod locking handwheels: Fix the position of the guide rods to prevent loosening.

Lower sealing unit: Located at the bottom of the carton, responsible for folding and sealing the lower long flaps.

Guide wheels: Assist in folding the short flaps and ensure accurate folding angles.

Guide pressing plate: Presses down on the top of the carton to prevent it from lifting during sealing.

Guide wheel locking handwheels: Fix the guide wheel position to ensure stable folding.

Upper sealing unit: Located at the top of the carton, responsible for folding and sealing the upper long flaps.

Sealing tape: Provides adhesive material, usually BOPP tape or hot melt adhesive.

Transmission system: Includes motor, chain, or belt, driving all components to work together.

Height adjustment handle: Manually adjusts the height of the sealing units to accommodate different carton heights.

Auxiliary worktable: Temporarily holds cartons or tools to improve operational convenience.

Wearing parts such as tape cutting blades, guide wheels, and belt rollers in these sealing units require dimensional accuracy and wear resistance under continuous operation. Hansheng Automation provides custom machining of these components based on customer drawings or samples.

2. Working Principle of an Automatic Carton Sealing Machine

The machine completes carton sealing through the following steps, with full automation:

Carton conveying
After products are packed into the carton, the carton enters the sealing machine via the conveyor chain, belt, or rollers. Gripping belts on both sides hold the carton and move it forward to the sealing area.

Short flap folding
The front short flap is automatically bent by the flap pressing frame, forming the initial sealing structure. When the carton enters the supporting roller, a photoelectric sensor detects its position and triggers the flap-folding cylinder, which pushes the flap frame to fold the rear short flap.

Glue application and bonding
After the rear short flap is folded, the sensor sends a signal to the hot melt glue machine, which automatically sprays hot melt adhesive or glue onto the surface of the short flap.

Long flap folding and pressing
As the carton continues forward, the left and right long flaps are automatically folded toward the center by the guide rods. At the same time, the pressing belt holds the long flaps down, ensuring the carton body, flaps, and tape bond tightly to complete sealing.

Shaping and output
After sealing is completed, the carton is sent out through the output conveyor and enters the next packaging process.

3. Key Points Summary

Automated control: Through the coordinated action of photoelectric sensors, cylinders, and motors, the machine achieves precise synchronization of short flap folding, glue application, and long flap pressing.

Adaptive design: The height adjustment handle and adjustable legs allow the machine to accommodate different carton sizes, improving versatility.

Efficiency advantage: The entire process requires no manual intervention, with sealing speeds of 15–30 cartons per minute, making it suitable for large-scale production.

When selecting a model, users should consider product dimensions, required sealing speed, and budget to avoid mismatched functions that may reduce production efficiency.
