Trench backfill compaction machinery mainly falls into four categories: rollers, frog rammers, plate vibrators, and vibrating plate compactors. Each type suits different working conditions.
1. Rollers
Rollers include static rollers and vibratory rollers. They compact soil by deadweight or vibration. Static rollers are simple to operate, while vibratory rollers offer higher efficiency and deeper compaction. They are suitable for large backfill areas, such as mainline backfill in municipal pipeline projects.
2. Frog Rammers
Frog rammers compact soil by impact and vibration. They are lightweight and named for their jumping movement. They are often used in narrow areas or corners, such as backfill for underground pipelines in residential areas, supplementary compaction in mechanical blind spots, and trenches with small pipe diameters.
3. Plate Vibrators
Plate vibrators densify surface soil through high-frequency vibration and are flexible to operate. They are mostly used for leveling after thin-layer backfill, such as the final covering step at the top of a trench. This helps prevent surface looseness that can lead to water seepage or collapse.
4. Vibrating Plate Compactors
Vibrating plate compactors combine vibration and impact, with exciting force reaching several tons. For narrow areas requiring high compaction, such as around inspection wells and pipeline junctions, they effectively improve local bearing capacity and reduce later settlement risk.
For equipment builders and maintenance teams, Hansheng Automation can machine non-standard parts from customer drawings-such as compactor plates, vibration shafts, roller brackets, and connection mounts-in single pieces or small batches, with material and surface treatment selected for wear and load conditions.
