DC motors are one of the main types of motors. DC motors can be used as generators or as electric motors. It can be used as a generator to obtain DC power supply, and is widely used as a motor because of its good speed regulation performance, and is widely used in many occasions with high speed regulation performance requirements.

Uses of DC motors:

For power supply: generator;

For power: electric motor;

Signal transmission: tachogenerator, servo motor.

Advantages and disadvantages of DC motors

(1) The potential waveform of the DC generator is better and less affected by electromagnetic interference.

(2) The speed regulation range of DC motor is wide and the speed regulation characteristics are smooth.

(3) The DC motor has strong overload capacity and large starting and braking torque.

(4) Due to the presence of commutators, their manufacturing is complex and the cost is high.

Armature core - The armature core is not only a component of the main magnetic circuit, but also a supporting part of the armature winding; The armature windings are embedded in the slots of the armature core. In order to reduce the eddy current loss in the armature core, the core is generally made of 0.5mm thick silicon steel sheet with teeth and grooves of DR530 or DR510 stacked and clamped, the armature core punch of the small motor is directly pressed on the shaft, and the armature core punch of the large motor is pressed on the rotor bracket first, and then the bracket is fixed on the shaft. To improve ventilation, the punch can be split into several sections along the axial direction to form a radial ventilation duct.
