Operating film laminating machines and shrink wrapping machines starts with removing the risk source, following the operating procedure, and keeping guards and maintenance in place. The notes below are split into general rules, laminating machine rules, and shrink wrapping machine rules.

General safety precautions

Before startup

Confirm that power, air, and hydraulic lines are not damaged and have no leaks. Check that the emergency stop button works.

Check that blades, heating rollers, conveyor rollers, and other moving parts are not loose or jammed. Make sure guards and covers are installed.

Keep unrelated people away. Do not store flammable or explosive materials near the machine.

During operation

Do not wear gloves when working near the cutting blades on a laminating machine or the heating rollers on a shrink wrapping machine. Gloves can be pulled into the machine.

Do not put any part of your body into the moving guard zone while the machine is running.

Cut main power before adjusting parameters or changing consumables. Wait until the machine has fully stopped.

The heating area of a shrink wrapping machine runs hot. Do not touch the heating chamber or shrink rollers directly.

Emergency and maintenance

If you hear abnormal noise, see jamming or smoke, press the emergency stop and cut main power. Find the fault before restarting.

Clean dust and leftover adhesive regularly. Buildup can cause short circuits or fire.

Follow the machine manual when changing consumables. Do not trigger machine movement by mistake.

Safety precautions for film laminating machines

Cutting risk

In automatic cutting mode, do not reach into the blade cutting area to adjust material. Some models need a light curtain. The machine must stop when the light curtain is blocked.

Lock the blade guard when adjusting the cutting position by hand.

Material alignment risk

When adjusting material alignment, keep fingers away from the conveyor roller and locating stop. Some high-speed laminating machines need a safety light grid.

Adhesive safety

When using solvent-based adhesives, keep the area ventilated, keep it away from open flame, and provide fire extinguishers. Prevent flammable gas from building up.

We can machine blade holders, feed rollers, locating stops, and guard brackets for film laminating machines from customer drawings, in single pieces or small batches. Hansheng Automation works to drawing dimensions and assembly clearances.

Safety precautions for shrink wrapping machines

Heat shrink risk

Put high-temperature warning signs around the heating chamber and shrink tunnel. Install guard mesh to prevent accidental contact.

Wait until heating parts cool to a safe temperature before changing shrink film.

Conveyor jam risk

If material jams, cut power first, then clear it by hand. Do not reach in to pull jammed material while the machine is running.

Some high-speed shrink wrapping machines need an automatic stop device for material jams. Test it regularly.

Film storage and use

Store shrink film in a cool, dry place away from high-temperature sources. This prevents early shrinkage, waste, or machine jams.

Use a proper tool to cut shrink film. Sharp edges can cut hands.

Our precision parts machining service is not limited to film laminating and shrink wrapping machines. Hansheng Automation can machine custom parts from drawings for filling machinery, food packaging equipment, medical devices, yacht fittings, RC car structural parts, and tobacco packaging machinery. We handle single pieces and small batches, with attention to material, tolerance, surface finish, and assembly fit.
