During operation, a fully automatic heat shrink packaging machine has four main risk categories: burns and fire, mechanical injury, electrical injury, and noise and vibration. Protective measures cover operating rules, equipment maintenance, guarding devices, and health management.

Burn and fire risks
Causes: Internal heating parts, such as heating tubes and heat guns, and the heat shrink film surface can reach 150 to 200°C. Direct contact can burn skin. If the electrical system has aging wiring, short circuits, or overloaded components, local high temperature or open flame may occur.

Measures:
Operators should wear heat-resistant protective clothing, such as long-sleeved cotton work clothes, heat-insulating gloves, and safety shoes with impact protection, to avoid skin exposure to high-temperature areas.
Before daily startup, check whether the insulation layer of heating parts is intact. Every week, use an infrared thermometer to check the surface temperature of electrical components. If temperature exceeds the rated value by 10%, stop the machine for inspection.
Keep a dry powder fire extinguisher within 1 meter of the equipment. Regularly clean film scraps in the heating chamber to prevent spontaneous combustion. Install a temperature alarm in the electrical control cabinet.

Mechanical injury
Causes: High-speed conveyor belts, sealing and cutting blade groups, and fan blades in the shrink tunnel can cause crushing, cutting, or impact injuries. If power is not disconnected during maintenance, the equipment may start unexpectedly.

Measures:
Install photoelectric sensors at the conveyor inlet and outlet. The machine stops automatically when foreign objects enter. Cover the sealing and cutting blade group with a transparent acrylic guard, reserve an inspection window, and equip it with a safety interlock switch that cuts power when opened.
Mark the danger zone within 0.5 meter of moving parts with yellow and black warning lines. Do not clean film scraps or adjust film rolls during operation. Use special tools such as a long-handled brush.
Before maintenance, follow the power disconnect, tag, and lock procedure, and operate after two-person confirmation. Install a guard net with a mesh size ≤10 mm on the shrink tunnel fan blades. We can machine precision parts such as guards, interlock switch brackets, sealing and cutting blade seats, and conveyor pulleys according to customer drawings. Hansheng Automation machines to drawings, supports single-piece and small-batch production, and selects materials and surface treatments for the actual working conditions.

Electrical injury
Causes: Non-professional operation, such as plugging or unplugging control cards with power on or touching switches with wet hands, can cause electric shock. Poor grounding or failed leakage protection increases risk.

Measures:
Operators should complete electrical safety certification training and know how to use insulating tools, such as voltage testers and insulating gloves, and first aid measures, such as CPR.
Install an electromagnetic lock on the control cabinet door so only authorized personnel can open it. Equip the distribution box with three-level leakage protection, with an operating current ≤30 mA, and test sensitivity once a month.
Keep the area around the equipment dry and lay insulating rubber mats on the floor. Do not use the machine outdoors in rain or wash electrical parts with water.

Noise and vibration hazards
Causes: Fans, motors, and conveyor systems produce continuous noise during operation, usually 75 to 85 dB. Long-term exposure can damage hearing. Equipment foundation vibration transfers through the floor to the human body and may cause hand-arm vibration disease.

Measures:
Install a silencer at the fan outlet to reduce noise by 5 to 10 dB. Add rubber vibration damping pads to motors. Regularly lubricate conveyor roller bearings to reduce friction vibration.
Provide operators with earplugs with a noise reduction value ≥25 dB, or earmuffs. Rotate positions every 2 hours to shorten exposure time.
Organize hearing tests every six months and establish occupational health records. For positions with frequent vibration exposure, such as film roll replacement, add hand nerve conduction velocity testing.

Our custom precision parts machining capability is not limited to heat shrink packaging machines. Hansheng Automation can machine food machinery parts, pharmaceutical packaging machinery parts, daily chemical filling equipment parts, and tobacco packaging machinery parts to drawings. We can also machine yacht precision parts and RC car precision parts. We machine to drawings with attention to dimensional consistency and delivery responsiveness.
