How to Remove the Old Shaft from a Capacitor Winding Machine

Before removing the old shaft, the machine must be fully shut down and locked out. All peripheral fixing parts should be removed in sequence, and a suitable puller should then be used to extract the shaft. The procedure below should be carried out according to the equipment manufacturer's instructions.

 

Safety preparation

Disconnect the main power supply, hang a "do not close" warning sign, and lock the emergency stop button to prevent accidental startup. Remove any remaining capacitor semi-finished products from the storage area and release residual tension in the material strip to avoid injury from sudden movement. Wear insulated gloves, safety glasses, and slip-resistant work shoes.

 

Remove peripheral components

 

Winding head guard
Loosen the guard fixing bolts with an appropriately sized hex wrench, carefully remove the guard, and place it in a designated area. Avoid hitting internal guide rollers, tension sensors, or other precision parts during handling.

 

Tension assembly
Loosen the locking nut on the tension roller, then remove the tension roller and its spring return mechanism. Mark the position of each part before removal so that reassembly can be done quickly.

 

Feed mechanism
Loosen the bolts on the feed roller mounting base, slide the feed roller outward, and disengage it from the winding spindle. Remove the drive belt or gear connection from the feed roller and store the parts properly.

 

Remove the old shaft

Select a dedicated puller or hydraulic puller that matches the shaft diameter, and clamp it onto the flange face or threaded end of the old shaft. Apply pulling force slowly and evenly to avoid shaft deformation or internal bearing seizure. If the shaft is rusted or stuck, apply a suitable penetrating oil and wait 10 to 15 minutes before continuing. If resistance suddenly increases during pulling, stop immediately and check for any remaining fixing parts that have not been removed. After the old shaft is fully pulled out, place it on a dedicated storage rack to prevent surface damage.

 

Post-removal inspection

Check the wear condition of the old shaft and determine whether the bearings and bushings inside the winding head also need to be replaced. Before installing a new shaft, clean the shaft bore and mating surfaces, and apply a suitable high-temperature grease to improve running stability after reassembly.
