When a rewinder will not move forward or backward, check five areas in order: power and motor, drive parts, limit switches, control system, and mechanical jams. Most faults show up in one of these areas.
Check the power supply and motor
Confirm the rewinder has normal power. Check whether the power cable is loose or broken. If power is normal, check the motor. Listen for abnormal noise and feel for vibration. If the motor is stuck or burned out, contact a qualified technician to repair or replace it.
Check the drive parts
For belt drives, check belt slack. For chain drives, check for chain derailment, rust, or sticking. Turn the drive wheel by hand. If resistance is too high or a part is broken or worn, replace it. Apply grease during maintenance to reduce friction.
For rewinder builders, Hansheng Automation can machine custom drive shafts, gears, guide rails, and wear parts from customer drawings, in single pieces or small batches.
Check the limit switches
If the machine reaches the set position and the limit switch triggers but movement does not stop, the switch may have oxidized contacts or dust buildup. Use a multimeter to check continuity. Clean the surface or replace the switch.
Verify the control logic
Check whether the operation panel display is normal. Restart the machine to clear a temporary program error. If movement stops often during use, check the terminal block connections for oxidation. Refresh the control parameters if needed.
Handle mechanical jams
Paper dust or oil sludge on the guide rail can block the slider. Clean it thoroughly with a vacuum and a non-woven cloth. Apply guide rail lubricant. Check the slider bearings for cracks. Roller bearings should get lithium-based grease every week.
If the problem remains after these checks, look at deeper causes such as gearbox gear wear or servo drive failure. Contact the original manufacturer using the contact information on the machine nameplate.
Beyond rewinder parts, our precision component customization serves more than one industry. We machine filling machinery parts, tobacco packaging machinery parts, medical device components, printing machinery parts, food machinery parts, yacht precision components, and RC car precision components. Hansheng Automation works from customer drawings and delivers one-off or batch parts to the required material, tolerance, and surface finish. Our scope is precision components, not complete machines.
