Working principle

A mixer uses mechanical force and gravity to evenly blend two or more materials. An agitator uses a shaft with blades rotating in a cylinder or tank to stir and mix multiple ingredients into a mixture or to reach a suitable consistency.

Applications

Mixers are widely used in various industries for industrial residues and daily applications, suitable for uniform mixing of many materials. Agitators are mainly used in coatings, solid stirring and dispersion, dissolution, and efficient processing of chemical products such as inks, pigments, and adhesives. Agitators are further divided into forced type, single horizontal shaft, double horizontal shaft, and other types to suit different materials and processes.

Equipment structure

Mixers have diverse structures. Design varies with the material and process, but the overall focus is uniform mixing. Agitators usually consist of five parts: hydraulic system, main drive, stirring system, guide mechanism, and electrical control box. The structure is compact and reasonable to ensure stirring efficiency and quality. For shafts, blades, couplings, and bearing housings used in mixers and agitators, Hansheng Automation can machine custom parts to customer drawings in single units or small batches.

In summary, mixers and agitators differ significantly in working principle, application scope, and equipment structure. The choice depends on the specific material properties and process requirements.

Our precision parts machining service is not limited to mixing and stirring equipment. Hansheng Automation also produces custom parts for yacht hardware, RC car components, tobacco packaging machinery, filling machinery, printing equipment, food processing machinery, and medical devices. We work from customer drawings and deliver single units or small batches.
