The standard operating process for a coating swing bar chain has four stages: pre-check and preparation, startup and debugging, normal operation, and shutdown, wrap-up, and daily maintenance. The whole process must follow equipment operating procedures and coating workshop safety rules.
Pre-check and preparation
(1) Equipment body and power check
Check the swing bar chain drive: confirm sprocket engagement is smooth, and chain tension meets the equipment manual. Normal sag is 2% to 3% of center distance. Pin shafts and rollers must show no wear or cracking. Oil level and oil quality at all lubrication points must be normal.
Check swing bar fixtures: confirm hooks and locating blocks are not deformed or rusted. The locking mechanism must move smoothly without sticking. Fixture-to-swing-bar bolts must be tight with no looseness.
Check electrical and power systems: confirm main power and control circuit wiring are intact, with no looseness or aging. Emergency stop buttons and limit switches must work properly.
(2) Coating support system check
Confirm spray guns, drying oven inlet and outlet limit switches, supply and exhaust air, and paint mist collection devices work properly, with no line blockage.
Check that temperature, liquid level, and other parameters of the pretreatment tank and drying oven display normally, with no fault alarms.
Startup and debugging
(1) No-load trial run
Disconnect all coating workpieces. Jog start the swing bar chain. Confirm the running direction matches the preset cycle. Check the chain for deviation, sticking, or abnormal noise.
Run continuously with no load for 15 to 30 minutes. Monitor chain surface temperature, which must not exceed ambient temperature plus 30°C. Confirm oil supply at all lubrication points is normal and transmission parts do not overheat.
(2) Load debugging
Hang qualified workpieces on the swing bar fixtures as required by the process. Make sure the load is balanced. A single hanging load must not exceed 80% of the equipment rated load, to avoid excessive swing during operation.
Start the full coating linked system. Let workpieces pass through the pretreatment tank, spray area, and drying oven in sequence. Check that workpieces run stably, with no risk of hitting the track or falling off.
Fine-tune the swing bar flip angle as required by the coating process. The adjustable range is generally 0 to 180°, to ensure all workpiece surfaces are evenly covered by spray.
Normal operation
Strictly control the number of hung workpieces according to the coating cycle. A single hanging total load must not exceed the equipment rated load. Overload operation is prohibited.
Inspect every 30 minutes during operation. Check whether the chain path deviates, fixture locking status, and whether the transmission has abnormal noise. Confirm no excessive paint residue buildup on the chain surface. If any abnormality appears, press the emergency stop button immediately and shut down for troubleshooting.
Monitor swing bar chain speed in real time. Make sure it matches the cycle of pretreatment, spraying, and drying. Avoid workpieces staying too long in the spray area or remaining in the drying oven.
During swing bar chain operation, operators must be professionally trained and certified. It is strictly forbidden for personnel to cross the track or touch moving parts. Unauthorized personnel must not enter the operating area.
Shutdown, wrap-up, and daily maintenance
(1) Single shutdown wrap-up
After the day's coating task is complete, stop the spraying system first. Wait until the last batch of workpieces passes through the drying oven and cooling zone, then stop the swing bar chain.
Use compressed air to blow paint residue and dust from chain, roller, and sprocket gaps. Clean debris from the track.
Add enough dedicated grease to all lubrication points. Use chain lubricant resistant to paint mist corrosion.
(2) Regular maintenance
Weekly: check chain tension, adjust the tensioning device to proper sag, and tighten sprocket, pin shaft connection bolts, and track fixing bolts.
Monthly: disassemble and check roller and sprocket wear. Replace parts with wear exceeding one third of original wall thickness.
Quarterly: fully replace chain lubricant, test the sensitivity of emergency stop buttons, limit switches, and other safety protection devices, and check the track for deformation or looseness.
We can machine custom swing bar chains, sprockets, fixtures, rollers, and other precision parts from customer drawings, for single-piece or low-volume production.
Our custom precision component machining capability is not limited to coating swing bar chains. Beyond swing bar chains, sprockets, fixtures, rollers, and pin shafts, we also machine yacht precision components, RC car structural parts, medical device parts, and non-standard parts for food machinery, printing machinery, and textile machinery. Hansheng Automation works from customer drawings and production quantities to deliver single-piece or low-volume precision machining.
