A horizontal case opener is automated equipment. The following faults can occur during operation for various reasons. Before troubleshooting, cut power and hang a warning sign to prevent accidental startup.

Abnormal vacuum when picking cartons, lower case holding vacuum time too long
Symptom: The vacuum system cannot build pressure normally during carton pickup, and the lower case holding vacuum time exceeds the set range.
Fix:
Check electrical connections for looseness or short circuits. Focus on the vacuum pump power line.
Check the air circuit for leaks, especially vacuum line joints and seals.
Test solenoid valve action. If it sticks, clean or replace it.
Check vacuum generator performance. Adjust output parameters or replace it if needed.
Recalibrate machine parameters so the vacuum threshold matches the carton material.

Abnormal lower case holding lift cylinder action, no movement or slow movement
Symptom: The cylinder cannot extend normally, or extension speed is clearly below standard, affecting carton forming efficiency.
Fix:
Adjust the cylinder throttle valve to increase air intake and speed up action.
Check whether the solenoid valve is damaged. Replace it if it cannot switch direction normally.
Confirm air supply pressure is stable, usually 0.5 to 0.7 MPa. If pressure is low, check the air compressor or pressure regulator.
Check the cylinder piston seal for wear that causes internal leakage.

Carton standing height insufficient
Symptom: After opening, the vertical carton height is below the set value, which can cause misalignment in later packing steps.
Fix:
Adjust the "case standing height" parameter on the control panel. Increase the value step by step until it meets the requirement.
Check mechanical limit blocks for looseness or displacement. Refit them to the correct position.
Confirm guide rails or chain drives move smoothly to avoid height deviation from mechanical jamming.

Bottom sealing tape not sticking well
Symptom: Tape does not fully bond to the carton bottom, or it lifts and falls off.
Fix:
Adjust tape heating temperature, usually 120 to 180°C, so the adhesive layer melts fully.
Clean the tape wheel surface to avoid dust or adhesive residue affecting friction.
Check the tape tension adjustment device to keep tape feed stable and free of slack.
Replace low-quality or damp tape rolls.

Carton jamming or blocking
Symptom: Cartons stop suddenly during transfer or pile up inside the machine.
Fix:
Remove debris, tape residue, and other foreign objects from the conveyor track.
Check whether photoelectric sensors are blocked or contaminated, which can cause incorrect carton position detection.
Adjust carton size parameters to ensure compatibility with the machine, for example length and width error within 3 mm.
Lubricate drive parts such as chains and gears to reduce mechanical resistance.
If tape wheels, guides, limit blocks, or similar parts wear, we can machine single pieces or small batches from customer drawings. Hansheng Automation supports materials such as stainless steel and aluminum alloy, with tolerances and surface treatment controlled by the drawing. We focus on precision machined parts, not complete machines.

Display control abnormal
Symptom: Touchscreen does not respond, parameters cannot be changed, or error codes appear.
Fix:
Restart the machine control system, restore default settings, and re-enter parameters.
Check display connection cables for looseness and replace damaged cables.
Update machine firmware to fix known software issues.
Contact the supplier for the specific solution matching the error code.

Safety notes

Cut power and hang a warning sign before troubleshooting to prevent accidental startup.
Non-professionals must not disassemble core parts such as vacuum pumps or servo motors.
Back up machine parameters regularly to prevent data loss and production interruption.

If the fault cannot be solved, contact the supplier's technical support immediately. Do not force the machine to run.

Systematic troubleshooting of the points above can quickly restore a Xiaohui Packaging horizontal case opener to normal operation and maintain line continuity and stability.

Beyond horizontal case opener parts, our drawing-based custom machining also covers medical devices, filling machinery, tobacco packaging machinery, food processing lines, yacht hardware, and RC car structural parts. We machine single pieces and small batches to drawing for equipment builders and production lines. We focus on precision machined parts, not complete machines.
