Candy packaging machine: Transmission, control and wrapping process

Overall composition and basic working logic

The overall structure of the knot-type candy packaging machine is built around the core process of "candy supply - packaging paper conveying - wrapping and forming - knotting and sealing - finished product discharge", and usually includes key modules such as candy supply unit, packaging paper processing unit, workstation transmission unit, knotting execution unit, power transmission unit and electrical control unit Each module achieves automated candy packaging operations through precise timing coordination.

The candy supply unit is generally composed of a hopper and a sugar sorting device. The hopper is used to store candies to be packaged, while the sugar sorting device is responsible for organizing and arranging the disordered candies, so that they can enter the subsequent processes at a fixed rhythm. The packaging paper processing unit includes feeding and cutting components, which can achieve continuous or intermittent feeding of packaging paper and complete quantitative cutting at the designated time. The workstation transfer unit mostly takes the process tray as the core carrier. The process tray is equipped with multiple sets of clamping components, which will carry candies and packaging paper to move intermittently or continuously between different workstations to complete each stage of processing. The torsion execution unit is the key to sealing. Through the coordinated action of the torsion manipulator, the torsion sealing at both ends of the packaging paper is achieved. The power and control unit provides power for the entire machine and ensures the precise connection of each action.

The complete packaging process of a candy

The process of packaging candies can be divided into a total of 10 small steps, namely feeding sugar, feeding paper, picking up sugar, cutting paper, feeding sugar, picking up sugar, folding paper at the bottom, folding paper at the top, twisting, and discharging sugar. Each step corresponds to different workstations on the process panel and has a clear division of labor:

1. Sugar feeding station: When the process disk rotates to this point, it will stop. The sugar feeding rod and the sugar receiving rod will hold the candies from both sides, and at the same time, the paper cutter will just cut the candy wrappers. After that, the candies and candy wrappers are sent into the pliers of the process disk together. The pliers will change from open to closed and firmly hold them. Immediately after, the movable origami board will fold the bottom of the candy wrapper upwards and press it down to maintain this state until it moves on to the next workstation.

2. Workstations II and III (Upper Folding) : At these two workstations, the fixed origami board will fold the upper part of the candy wrapper down. After two starts and stops and friction, the candy wrapper will wrap the candy into a cylindrical shape, preparing for the subsequent twisting.

3. Station Ⅳ (Double-end Twisting) : The process disk stops again. The twisting manipulator first closes and clamps both ends of the candy wrapper. Then, it rotates about 1.1 times to complete the twisting while gently approaching the candy to prevent the wrapper from being torn. When the twisting is completed at 340 degrees, the mechanical hand will open and move away, without affecting the continuous rotation of the process disk.

4.V Station (Transition) : This station has no special devices. It is just a "buffer station" that enables the candies to be smoothly transferred to the next station.

5. Station VI (Sugar Dispensing) : After the process disk stops, the pliers here will open in advance. The sugar-beating rod will pass through the pliers to push out the wrapped candies. Then the sugar-beating rod will return to its original position, waiting for the next operation.

How does the electrical system ensure the stable operation of the machine?

There are two motors in the electrical system of the machine: the main motor M1 and the sugar processing motor M2. Before starting up, you need to press the "Jog" button to test the package first. Make sure the packaging is fine before officially starting up to avoid wasting candy wrappers. It also has a considerate automatic shutdown function when sugar is low:

If there is no sugar on the conveyor belt, the limit switch SQ1 will be triggered, the main motor will stop rotating, and at the same time, the sugar shortage indicator light will come on to remind the workers to replenish sugar.

If there is no sugar in the sugar tray, the limit switch SQ2 will activate the oscillation coil to automatically add sugar to the sugar tray. When there are enough candies, it will automatically stop.

1.How does the electrical system of this packaging machine ensure the stable operation of the equipment and avoid the waste of candy wrappers?

Answer: The equipment is equipped with an M1 main motor and an M2 sugar handling motor. On the one hand, before starting up, it is necessary to jog the package first to confirm that there is no problem with the packaging before officially starting it, to prevent the waste of sugar paper in vain. On the other hand, when sugar is insufficient, it will automatically respond. If the conveyor belt runs out of sugar, SQ1 will be triggered, causing the main motor to stop and a light to prompt for sugar replenishment. When the sugar in the sugar tray is low, SQ2 will be triggered to start automatic sugar replenishment. Once the sugar quantity is sufficient, it will automatically stop.

2.From the beginning of packaging to completion, which workstations does a candy go through? What effects can each workstation achieve respectively?

Answer: A single candy package needs to go through six workstations, and the effects at each station are different: the candy feeding station can fix the candy, cut the candy wrappers and fold the bottom of the candy wrappers. At Workstations II and III, the upper part of the candy wrapper can be folded down, allowing the wrapper to wrap around the candy and form a cylinder. The sealing at both ends is achieved by the mechanical hand turning 1.1 times. Station V only serves as an intermediate buffer. Station VI is responsible for pushing out the finished products, and the entire process involves a total of 10 specific operations.
