Besides the four faults covered earlier, stretch wrapping machines also show noise after the turntable starts, a lift frame that will not raise or lower, carriage shaking during up and down travel, and frequent film rollback. Causes and fixes are below.

Noise after the turntable starts

Uneven floor
If the floor is not level, the turntable takes uneven force and makes noise. Level the installation area or move the machine to a better location.

Individual support rollers badly worn
Support rollers carry the turntable and help it turn. One badly worn roller makes the turntable run unsteady and causes noise. Replace the worn roller.

Support rollers under the pallet worn
Worn support rollers under the pallet affect turntable rotation. They can cause noise and damage the machine base. Check these rollers and replace them if worn.

Load beyond rated capacity
If the load is heavier than the machine rating, the turntable takes too much pressure and makes noise. Check load weight before use and keep it within the rated range.

Lift frame will not raise or lower

Limit switch or turntable counting travel switch damaged
These switches control the lift frame. If damaged, the frame will not move. Replace the damaged switch.

No power or phase loss
Check that power is connected and that no phase is missing. The lift frame needs correct power to move.

Motor damaged
The motor drives the lift frame. If it fails, the frame will not work. Replace the motor.

Chain broken or jammed
The chain is part of the lift drive. If it breaks or jams, the frame will not raise or lower. Replace a broken chain and clear anything jamming it.

Lift body slider or PLG damaged
A damaged lift body slider or PLG can stop the lift frame. Replace the damaged part.

Inverter adjustment knob set at low position
The knob position affects motor speed. If it is set too low, the lift frame will not move properly. Set it to the correct frequency.

Emergency stop switch in stop position
The emergency stop is a safety device. If it is in the stop position, the lift frame will not work. Release the emergency stop switch.

Carriage shakes during up and down travel

Chain too loose
The chain drives carriage travel. A loose chain lets the carriage shake. Adjust chain tension. Add lubricant every two to three months to keep the chain in good condition.

Frequent film rollback

Poor film quality
Film with low toughness or poor tack may not meet the wrapping requirement and can fall back. Choose film that matches the application.

Carriage swing arm tension spring set wrong
The tension spring controls film tightness. If set wrong, film tension is uneven and rollback can occur. Adjust the spring position so film tension is even.

Burrs on guide rollers
Burrs on guide rollers scratch the film and affect film feed. This can cause rollback. Sand and smooth the guide rollers.

After each run, clean the machine and keep to the maintenance schedule. If the machine does not move or the turntable does not turn at startup, causes vary. If the reducer or inverter is damaged, do not dismantle it. Contact a service technician or the manufacturer. Important: disconnect power before all cleaning and maintenance work.
