The 3-axis mode of the Alfa injection molding machine robot uses coordinated movement along the X, Y, and Z axes to achieve precise positioning and efficient part removal.
X-Axis (Horizontal Forward/Backward Movement)
Movement direction: horizontal forward and backward movement along the mold opening and closing direction, covering the main path over the mold area.
Main function: moves the robot quickly to a position directly above the mold or to a specified position, completing the preparation for part removal. After the mold is formed, the X-axis rapidly positions above the workpiece so the gripper reaches the best pick point.
Technical features: high-precision guide rails and a servo drive system improve running speed and repeat positioning accuracy, within ±0.1 mm on some models, ensuring smooth movement without vibration.
Y-Axis (Horizontal Left/Right Movement)
Movement direction: horizontal left and right movement perpendicular to the X-axis, extending the robot's lateral working range.
Main function: works with the X-axis to complete complex path movements, such as transferring the picked part to a conveyor or peripheral equipment. A typical scenario is material flow between the injection molding machine and the packaging line.
Technical features: optimized rack-and-pinion or timing belt transmission reduces backlash error and supports flexible switching between multiple stations.
Z-Axis (Vertical Up/Down Movement)
Movement direction: vertical up and down movement, controlling gripper height to match the mold or carrier position.
Main function: precisely adjusts the contact height between the gripper and the workpiece. During picking, the Z-axis lowers to fit the workpiece surface; after picking, it rises to a safe height to avoid collision.
Technical features: equipped with a high-torque motor and braking device, maintaining stable lifting even with a load above 10 kg. Some models include anti-drop protection.
The coordinated movement of the three axes is managed by the control system. It supports teach programming or parameter settings and can adapt to different mold sizes and production cycle requirements. During operation, regularly check the lubrication status and sensor sensitivity of each axis to maintain long-term running accuracy.
For related non-standard parts, Hansheng Automation can machine components from customer drawings in single pieces or small batches.
