Product Features

Choosing the right Iron Casting offers unparalleled advantages for mechanical engineering, particularly in environments that demand stability and longevity under heavy loads.

Superior Vibration Damping

One of the most significant benefits of a grey Iron Casting is its ability to absorb vibrations. This makes it the perfect material for machine bases and precision gearbox housings where resonance must be minimized.

01

Excellent Machinability

Thanks to the graphite content within the metal matrix, an Iron Casting acts as its own lubricant during the CNC machining process. This allows us to achieve incredibly tight tolerances and smooth surface finishes rapidly.

02

High Wear Resistance

Cast iron has natural anti-galling properties. Components made from Iron Casting, such as heavy-duty belt pulleys and sliding guide rails, exhibit exceptional resistance to friction and wear over long operating cycles.

03

Cost-Effective Rigidity

Compared to fabricating structures from welded steel, a single Iron Casting provides superior structural integrity and rigidity at a lower large-scale production cost.

04

Factory Capabilities

Our integrated manufacturing approach means we handle your Iron Casting project from the initial molten pour to the final precision CNC machining.

Utilize advanced induction furnaces to precisely control the chemical composition of every Iron Casting batch. Before pouring, spectrometer analysis ensures the carbon and silicon equivalents are exact. Once the raw Iron Casting blanks are formed and shaken out, they are transported to our state-of-the-art CNC facility. Here, we use 4-axis and 5-axis machining centers to finish the critical mounting surfaces and internal bearing bores to Level 5 accuracy. Every finished Iron Casting undergoes coordinate measuring machine (CMM) inspection to guarantee absolute compliance with your CAD designs.

Our Casting & Machining Capabilities

We control the entire manufacturing lifecycle in-house to strive for zero-defect quality:

Casting Capacity

We utilize advanced sand casting and lost foam casting techniques, capable of pouring small intricate parts up to massive structural bases weighing several tons (up to 3800mm in length).

Melt Control

Induction furnaces coupled with real-time spectrometer analysis guarantee the exact Carbon Equivalent (CE) and mechanical properties for every batch.

Precision CNC Finishing

After cleaning and rough machining of datum surfaces, the rough iron blanks are transferred to our 4-axis and 5-axis machining centers. We achieve ISO IT5 tolerance grades (or better) for critical bearing bores and mounting surfaces, verified by our CMM inspection lab.

Materials: Grey Iron vs. Ductile Iron

Selecting the right cast iron metallurgy is critical for your component's performance:

Grey Iron (ASTM A48 Class 20, 30, 40 / HT200, HT250)
Features a flake graphite structure, offering superior machinability and excellent vibration damping. Ideal for machine tool beds, gearbox housings, and pump casings where rigidity is paramount.

Ductile Iron / Nodular Iron (ASTM A536 / QT400, QT500, QT600)
Magnesium is added to create spherical graphite nodules, giving this iron steel-like tensile strength, high ductility, and impact resistance. Perfect for high-stress applications like automotive steering knuckles, heavy-duty suspension parts, and heavy machinery joints.

FAQ

Q: How do I know if I need Grey Iron or Ductile Iron for my Iron Casting?

A: If your part is a base frame or housing that needs to absorb vibration and requires high compressive strength, a grey Iron Casting is usually best. If the part will be subjected to impact, bending, or high tensile loads (like a transmission joint), you should specify a ductile Iron Casting.

Q: Can you provide surface treatments for the raw Iron Casting?

A: Yes. Raw cast iron is susceptible to rust. We typically provide our Iron Casting components with an anti-rust oil coating, industrial primer, or durable powder coating, depending on your final assembly requirements.

Q: How do you prevent internal defects in the Iron Casting?

A: We utilize advanced gating system designs and simulation software before casting to ensure smooth metal flow. Post-casting, we employ non-destructive testing (NDT) to check the Iron Casting for internal shrinkage, porosity, or inclusions.
