On July 15, 2025, Shenzhen completed the world's first innovative practice of robots autonomously riding the subway to deliver goods. According to reports, a batch of robots featuring the "Arctic Tern" cartoon character have been deployed at Wanhua Station and along the line of Shenzhen Metro Line 2, autonomously planning the optimal route and riding the subway to deliver goods for the 7-Eleven stores within the station.

For a long time, the over 300 shops within Shenzhen Metro stations have faced challenges such as difficulty in ground-level delivery parking and high costs. The delivery robots deployed this time integrate AI scheduling algorithms, panoramic laser radar, and intelligent mechanical chassis technology - - The intelligent scheduling system can plan the optimal route across the entire network by combining order volume, store location, and subway capacity information. The mechanical structure enables the robot to autonomously ride elevators to enter and exit platforms, identify train arrivals, and board the subway, fully utilizing idle subway time slots and space to achieve unmanned delivery, effectively resolving the delivery challenges faced by subway shops.
This scenario is jointly operated by Shenzhen Metro Group and Vanke, deeply integrating technology into public services and opening up an innovative path for urban logistics delivery.
