On November 20, local time, the International Federation of Robotics, headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany, released the latest data showing that the application speed of robots in China's manufacturing industry continues to accelerate, and the density of industrial robots in China has doubled in the past four years, and has risen to the third place in the world in 2023.

Robot density refers to the ratio of the number of industrial robots in operation to the number of employees, which is an effective indicator to measure the level of automation in the manufacturing industry in various countries.

According to the 2024 World Robot Report released by the International Federation of Robotics, the global average robot density will reach a new high in 2023, reaching 162 robots per 10,000 employees, more than double that of seven years ago. China has overtaken Germany and Japan to become the third largest country in the world.

According to the latest data, in 2023, South Korea has the highest density of robots in the world, with 1,012 robots per 10,000 employees. Singapore ranked second, with 770 robots per 10,000 employees. China is actively promoting the application of automation technology, so that the robot density has reached 470 robots per 10,000 employees. It is worth noting that in 2019, China just made it into the top 10, but in just four years it has doubled the density of robots and ranks third in the world.

In addition, according to data released by the federation in September this year, in 2023, the number of newly installed industrial robots in China will reach 276,300 units, accounting for 51% of the world's new installations.
