Tesla Robotaxi Service Upgrade Enables Precise Parking At User's Phone Location

On July 22, 2025, Tesla optimized and upgraded its autonomous taxi (Robotaxi) service, adding a precise docking feature - vehicles are no longer limited to navigating to the pre-set pickup points in the app but can now precisely dock at the user's phone location, further enhancing the convenience of pickups and drop-offs.

This change was first discovered by Tesla enthusiast Owen Sparks. While observing the Tesla Robotaxi fleet in the Austin area over the weekend, he noticed that the vehicles would actively approach the user's phone location rather than strictly follow map markers. Subsequently, Tesla CEO Elon Musk confirmed on social media platform X that this was a targeted service upgrade aimed at making the user experience more natural.

Industry observers believe that while this update is not significant in scope, the flexible scheduling that aligns with users' real-time locations can reduce the time users spend searching for vehicles, enhance the humanization of the service, and clear minor obstacles in the user experience for the large-scale rollout of Tesla Robotaxis, accelerating their integration into everyday transportation scenarios.
