Earlier, the United States had asked TSMC, Samsung and other wafer foundries to stop supplying AI chips with 7nm and more advanced technology to customers in Chinese Mainland from last 11.
At present, only TSMC, Samsung, and Intel, three major wafer foundries overseas, have the ability to manufacture advanced processes of 7nm and below. Leaving aside Intel, after TSMC was restricted, Samsung became the largest candidate manufacturer.
