On November 12, the reporter learned from Huazhong University of Science and Technology that the latest scientific research results of the National Pulsed High Magnetic Field Science Center of the school - large permanent magnet wind turbine non-magnetic assembly - in-situ overall magnetization and demagnetization integrated technology and equipment have made new breakthroughs. Recently, the magnetization of 18 to 22 megawatt wind turbines has been completed, and the in-situ demagnetization and re-saturation magnetization of the world's largest single-unit power wind turbine of 26 megawatts have been achieved.

Permanent magnet motors are core equipment in the fields of new energy power generation, electric vehicles, rail transportation and ship drives. With the large-scale and high-power permanent magnet motors, the traditional production technology of magnetizing first and then assembling makes the motor manufacturing process with magnetic force, the assembly is difficult and the efficiency is low, and the magnetic pole performance is easily affected by subsequent processes. In response to the defects of traditional processes, the team of Professor Li Liang, director of the National Pulsed High Magnetic Field Science Center, innovatively proposed a method of non-magnetic assembly first and then overall magnetization, and gradually achieved overall magnetization of 2.5 megawatts to 26 megawatts of wind turbines.
"This technological breakthrough is of great significance for the green remanufacturing of large permanent magnet motors after they are retired and recycled." Li Liang said that compared with traditional technical solutions, the team's in-situ charging and demagnetization technology only requires more than 100 milliseconds of discharge to complete the charging and demagnetization of the entire magnetic pole, and the energy consumption is less than one percent of the heating demagnetization technology. The permanent magnets demagnetized in this way can be processed and assembled according to new needs, and then magnetized to become new magnetic poles for reuse.
