Shanghai, China, August 7, 2024 – Red Lion Controls, an innovative technology manufacturer dedicated to providing industrial organizations with the ability to access, connect, and visualize data, announces the launch of two new Programmable Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), the VT-MIPM-138-D and VT-MIPM-248-D. Equipped with on-board I/O, the industrial controller is designed for superior performance in extreme environments and is ideal for a wide range of rugged, process-oriented applications, making it ideal for water and wastewater treatment, oil and gas production, and other advanced automation setups.

The new RTUs offer maximum independent control to meet the demands of today's most demanding industrial processes. Automatic data logging and time stamping, as well as the recording of trends, alarms, and event sequences, provide operators with full visibility into their applications. The powerful IEC 61131 programming and configuration environment in Red Lion Workbench provides a wide range of programming and troubleshooting capabilities. The unit also supports ISaGRAF for backward compatibility and has a true open system design that supports Ethernet TCP, Modbus, Linux®, and more.
Ideal for water and wastewater treatment and oil and gas processing facilities, the VT RTU is pre-certified for operators to add applications, program, and configure as needed, and easily scale from 1 site to more than 1000. Multi-user connectivity is possible with 10/100 Ethernet ports, RS232 and RS485, and up to 4 communication ports. Onboard I/O is a mix of DI, DO, AI, and AO. Advanced communication capabilities include exception reporting, store-and-forward, and point-to-point networking.
"The VT-MIPM-138-D and VT-MIPM-248-D represent the ultimate upgrade for RTUs in extreme industrial environments," said Jacob Colegrove, Product Manager. This is a fairly sensible choice for users who are replacing from the existing Sixnet series. They occupy the same space, have the same I/O count, offer comprehensive data logging and networking capabilities, and programmability for full flexibility.
Suitable for hazardous areas and extreme temperatures, the controller is rated for operating temperature from -40°C to 70°C and is UL Class I, Division 2, CE and ABS Type certified.
